Challenge: do an entire day vlog with just that camera.

This was the most confusing episode for my Amazon Alexa.

Just picked up an Alexa Classic camera! At this price point the camera is an absolute no brainer. Write it off on your taxes as a business expense, make money with the camera, and sell it for probably the same as what you paid for it now. I can’t image these cameras can get much cheaper.

Whenever I buy a high-ticket item from Craigslist, I ask the seller to bring it to my bank. If he’s at all shady there’s almost no way he will try any funny business when armed guards are there. The seller also is assured that I’m not trying to slip him any counterfeit $100 bills since it’s coming straight from the teller. win-win

Anything over 8 years old it’s a risk because this is how much electrolytic capacitors last, same happens if the product it’s brand new but it was at some storage somewhere for over 2 years without use, this is called shelf life. Unless this products uses a e-cap based on polymer (a dry chemical instead of a wet one), you’ll have to do a full recap on this cameras.

Fun fact: ARRI doesn’t make their own sensors. ON Semiconductor makes the ALEV III sensor, they were also the ones commissioned to design it and won an award for it.Fun fact #2: The Alexa LF and Mini LF don’t have a new sensor. They just butted two old ALEV III designs together and rotated it. They only ever had one sensor, the same as in your “old” Classic, and it’s still the one used in their latest cameras. The Alexa 65 is just three ALEV III designs butted together on the same die.

I’ve been watching since around 50K and been loving your videos, especially the “$94 Camera | Can it shoot cinematic video” vi., It was really great and made me start using my first ever camera (a Canon Powershot a495 which costs around �30 second hand these days) again for casual video and photo shooting, to see what I could get with a crappy camera xD. I’d absolutely LOVE a Mavic Pro 2 as the only drone I have is a Bebop 2, which is quite crap. I’d love being able to shoot HI-RES raw photos, not like the crappy output of my Bebop, and the 1-inch sensor would be fantastic for low light photography and videography. Here in London with limited observatories and things of that nature a Mavic Pro 2 would be a dream come true. Hopefully I can win it xD

Received my BMPCC 4K these days and …. it’s just awesome! The footage (esp in RAW) looks so fantastic. Very happy with it. But it makes sense to add some gear like a rig, SSDs, SSD-holder and lots and lots of batteries ;)BTW: The camera fits just fine on the Ronin-S – just use the mount adapter that is delivered with the Ronis-S … it’s in the small pouch with all the cables stuff. Put that one the normal mounting plate and the Blackmagic on top and it balances just fine.

We are filming a lightweight docu-series here in Asia and are using a GH5S and a BMPCC4K… Going to do a Youtube about our experience, but overall – you’re 100% correct.. the BMPCC4K has its limits, including battery life, the necessity for it to be rigged up, and more than anything else – it doesn’t have a good audio solution. One 3.5mm and one min-xlr makes it highly inconvenient to get good audio into it. There’s a middle ground somewhere with a semi-rigged version – maybe with a cage, a Sony L-series battery, and some XLR mix box of some sort.. Oh, and yes, definitely an EF adapter, because MFT lenses just don’t get enough light into it
