1950s Vintage Cash Register Restoration

(c) Rescue & Restore TOOLS & EQUIPMENT I USE: 3M Lead Testing Swabs: https://amzn.to/2Hd3RXa Red Line EZ50 Powder Coating System: https://amzn.to/2VfeRMs Dremel …

Fun but useless fact. Early versions of the register didn’t have a “ding”. One shopowner was tired of his thieving personnel, so he invented a way he could hear when the register was opened. He later patented and founded his own register company.

This makes me think, no matter how advanced the tech gets, things that are made of analog can outlast anything digital.

Rust: *exists*Rescue and Restore: I’m about to end this man’s whole career.

How does he remember how to put it back together, I’d never

Comments: how’d he remember where things go?Video footage from camera: Am I a joke to you?

The sandblasting is like coloring to a whole new level

I’ve got a question. Do you keep the things that you restore, or do you sell them?

My thought when he’s pulling it out of the kiln: “Yummy, fresh baked cash register!”

Aww, no lead test? I love the lead test!!! I don’t know why. Beautiful restoration as always.

I know literally nothing about restoration, but these videos are so calming to watch. As someone with anxiety, these videos are very helpful for me

Do you ever start a project and think “Aw, hell, what have I gotten myself into?”

This dude uses insane equipment that I didn’t even know existed.

Beautiful, well made toys. Now everything is plastic. 🙁

R&R: Posts 8 hour video of nothing but sand blasting.Me: Watches intently

The ding of the drawer opening at the end was very satisfying

waitof you sand blasted your finger, would it be like a burn/blister or a sting?

This man can reassemble anything.

Unbelievable what you can do with old toys. Do you sell them after? You have the patience of a saint. I am sincerely amazed how you breathe new life into these old toys. ❤️

Now I want to see him restoring an old typewriter

I love it when he blows that thing on the rust and it makes it look almost brand new it is just so fascinating to me

This is TOP TIER restoring…never seen anyone else at the level of this channel. Very well done, best I’ve ever seen!

Well Done. I had the honor of serving with your father in the Marine Corps in the early seventies. He turned me on to your channel, and is the bravest Marine I ever served with. Semper Fi Ship.

Is it just me that how he restores gently makes his videos relaxing to watch

“A bingo table with no bingo balls, it would be impressive if-“*makes homemade bingo balls out of wood*”…Im friggen impressed.”Seriously Good Work!

Me: Oh, that is so cool, restoration with all those mashines, and I know most of them from other vid-Video: *laser etcher*Me: *laser WHAT*

This person has a workshop made in heaven, everything anyone could possibly need.

At this point he’s probably gonna start buying cars and restoring them

I can’t imagine the sense of absolute satisfaction this guy must had after finishing this project! Really complex and so many tools were used…not to mention the craftiness it required!

No talking, No Backsound, ASMR, Good Simple Shoot, Proper Tools.PERFECT !

Such a good video. I can’t stop watching the powdercoat part.

Rational Person: Buys bingo ballsRescue & Restore: How about i make my own tool to make the balls, then laser engrave them?

Lol Bingo! Laughed to hard when it panned to the clown bank.

I have a question. How you clean the clamps and other equipment after painting and cooking in paint owen? The same after sand and metal/plastic blasting? Thx for response

I told my fiance that i wanted those tools … He told me “ah no” 😭💁

when someone is so good at restoring, that he restores all his tools and equipment to a point that the viewer thinks they are factory new – amazing.

Look at all these new tools you got! I remember when you were using DIY solutions and now look at you! I love your content, keep it going 🙂

Northwestern Model 60 Vending Machine Restoration

(c) Rescue & Restore TOOLS & EQUIPMENT I USE: 3M Lead Testing Swabs: https://amzn.to/2Hd3RXa Red Line EZ50 Powder Coating System: https://amzn.to/2VfeRMs Dremel …

Back when the machines would give you a GENEROUS handful 😊

You know this dude has the coolest man cave ever

Beautiful work. The only thing I wish you’d have done differently is repainted it the original yellow, which is fairly unique (at least nowadays). The red just makes it look so generic.

Anyone else wondering where he gets all those antiques

Anybody else wonder where he got those simulated diamond plate stickers for the front of the machine? Or how about those components he replaced?

Who else thought the front was smashed in?

Only a genius could figure out the mechanics of these old machines … I’m intrigued when holes are found upon disassembly, and wonder, “Now what?” I. Am. Riveted. (Pun intended!) ♡♡

Oh, my God. 17 seconds in and I’m nostalgic. I LIVED for that quarter from my mom at the end of a grocery trip. Wow. Thank you for the memories, man.

Who else was waitin for the sound of the m&m’s being poured into their glass enclosure 😂😂😂

It was sad to see the condition when i first saw it and when finished i was Happy. I would dare to say there’s been many many Happy faces looking through that glass over the years. Then i Laughed @ what looks to be a bag size handful of candy for a Nickle. Thanks for sharing the work you do. ::SUBBED::

What an amazing transformation. Brilliant video – no irritating music, no narration, just craftsmanship.

*Then:* They gave you a generous handful for a nickel.*Now:* They give you half a handful for a quarter.

The writing on the glass was at front when you got it – you have it at back now.

I used to buy my bubblegums in one of these machines 😀👍🏻

Man, that’s a LOT of M & M’s for a nickel!

Man, I miss owning little candy vending machines like this! I used to have a whole fleet of them when I was a teenager. Maybe I’ll get more one day.

I was wondering how you were going to get past all the oxidized aluminum cast. I guess some thing can’t be 100% restored. Nice job though. That would look great in my office.

For some reason I just got way too much pleasure out of him pouring the M&Ms into the glass jar and I started laughing hysterically.

I like your video sir. Your powder coat part is very satisfying. For the matte look until being a wet look. The color is brighter than the pilox. And the part of using sandblaster is awesome. I think, all of the part is awesome for me.

That old and still had the key…. That’s the amazing part.
