(c) TheTravelingClatt Philippines SAVED My People – How Filipinos saved Jewish Lives! Filipinos took a big part in saving many Jews during horrible …

Haha I said this video probably wasn’t going to get views 😂 it’s one of my best performing videos in while! Thank you for watching! 🇵🇭❤️🇮🇱

It’s a story that definitely deserves more attention !! Thanks for Sharing Tal.

Notice that the Philippine presidents Quezon, who saved 1,000+ jews, and Rojas, who voted for the statehood of Israel, both have first name of MANUEL which is Jewish for IMMANUEL meaning God is with us. Perhaps, God had chosen these presidents’ first name to show to the Jewish people that He is with them always, even in the time when they were persecuted by the Nazis. I hope your faith in God will be strengthened by this knowledge.

Im love with Philippines ❤❤ amazing country with beautiful peoplele from Israel 🇮🇱 ❤ 🇵🇭

I almost cried😢 it’s so amazing that the small country in the Pacific let all the these people to refuged and live for what they believe no matter what religion or race they’re.it’s so touching.Late Pres. Manuel L.Quezon did a great job.he did it for Humanity.nice video bro.thank you as well to the People of State of 🇮🇱..God bless us all.from the Philippines 🇵🇭

Israel was one of the first countries to send relief goods to Leyte after Typhoon Haiyan devastated the region. I’m sure a lot of Filipinos would not forget that, I know I won’t.

That’s so typical! Filipino people are amazing. My grandma was a Filipina from the Philippines and later moved to Hawaii and married my grandpa. Thank you for making this amazing video! Much love and aloha from Hawai’i! 😘❤️🤙🏽

Filipinos love the Jewish people as we love Jesus. The Philippines is always open and accommodating to people who seek refuge in our land.

The Filipino accent on “Oh! You’re from the land of Jesus” cracked me up😂. Spot on!

Thank you for doing this video. I had no idea of the history between The Philippines🇵🇭 and Israel🇮🇱 or the history of Jews to escape persecution during the Spanish Inquisition.

It’s not just Jews. Here’s a rundown of the history of accepting refugees in the Philippines:1. Christian refugees from Ternate and Tidore Islands in Maluku (Moluccas) were resettled in what is now Ternate, Cavite during the Spanish period, when the islands’ kingdom (then under Spanish rule) fell to the Portuguese and Dutch slavers. 2. 800 White (Royalist) Russians fled to the Philippines in WW1. after they were forced to flee the Russian revolution.3. Spanish Republic loyalists were granted asylum also by President Quezon in 1939, during the Spanish Civil War when they were being hunted by Franco.4. The Jewish refugees in this video.5. 30,000 Chinese Kuomintang refugees fleeing the Chinese Civil War in the post-war 1940s to 1950s were accepted.5. 6,000 White Russians (again) in 1949 to 1953, these being the Russians who stayed in China. They were forced to flee to the Philippines after the Communist Party took over China. No other nation were accepting them.6. Thousands of Vietnamese boat people were granted asylum in Palawan in the 1970s. A few married locals and settled permanently (which is why you can see traces of Vietnamese cuisine in Puerto Princesa).7. Thousands of Iranian people stranded in Manila in the 1970s after the Iranian Revolution and the rise of the Ayatollah, were granted refugee status.8. A total of 400,000 boat people from Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam were accepted in refugee centers in Bataan in the 1980s.9. 600 or so East Timorese refugees fleeing the revolution in East TImor were accepted in 2000.10. Syrian, Afghan, Iraqi, and African refugees were granted asylum during the various wars in the Middle East in the past decade. 11. Rohingya refugees were offered citizenship, even when all the neighboring countries (including fellow Muslim Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Malaysia) were refusing to accept them. Though none actually arrived as other countries opened up their borders shortly afterwards. Most of these refugees were eventually resettled to western countries. With the role of the Philippines forgotten.

This story should be taught in schools. It’s so heartwarming to hear about!❤️🙏🏾

I got Goosebumps while you are telling the stories of the relationship of Philippines and Israel. You are always welcome to visit here in the Philippines.. 🙂

PHILIPPINES HAS A KIND HEART….GOD BLESS ISRAEL

When you speak from the heart and the truth, people listen.

Dude, you are very eloquent and thorough. I’m an American Filipino, thank you enjoyed for your explanation, I’m now smarter for it!

Philippines is the second home of any race. From the beginning. It is the Mother land called Elda where Noah came from.

The feeling is mutual brother! Be safe throughout your travels, especially in this time. Blessings to you pare!

I’m proud of the Philippines’ relationship with the Israel. When I learnt about this story (few years before I watched your vid), I was in awe! Same reaction as my British friends had when I shared the story to them! As grateful as the Israel to the Philippines this home country of mine is because Israel have been open to Filipino overseas contract workers for years! I say THANK YOU in behalf of my countrymen! 🙏🏼❤️Keep safe my friend. God bless — ❤️ from 🇬🇧

Philippines also taken care of Vietnamese refugees who flee their country after the Vietnam war, There is also White Russian Refugees who flee the Bolshevik Revolution take them also to Eastern Samar in 1949, actually by history there are 9 waves of REFUGEES that was taken care of by the PHILIPPINES!

Wanna watch my entire Philippines trip! Playlist begins here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uD7mNU7qsUA&list=PLzHRSHS9p7Ss-ZFLbunDn9KDjFmbjnfq5&index=1

I’m Filipina and tbh I hate strolling in PH malls it’s exhausting af and yes, that lost-in-the-parking-lot-situation is very common here 😂 great vid! The drone shots were great! Looking forward to your Bantayan trip. The last time I was there was 2014. Can’t wait to see what has changed! 🙂

The malls are huge! It takes a lot of getting used to and it takes a lot of time to explore. Having said that…that’s one thing I always look forward to whenever I come home. Don’t feel bad, Tal, I think everyone gets lost in those malls at some point. Take care my friend and safe travels!

Quick history, the owner, Henry Sy used to sell goods in a stall in front of a pharmacy (Mercury Drug) however the owner of the pharmacy kept on kicking them off the place. Henry Sy promised that he wouldn’t allow any of the Pharmacy be part of his mall if he ever get rich. Moving forward, he got rich and you’ll never find any Mercury Drug in his malls. You can only find Watsons.

It’s not an office tower, it is an Observatory Tower at 150 meter high (40 storey building). It has restaurants at the top also with a 360 view of Cebu City.

Wow! 😲 I never fully apreciated how ginormous our malls are… that you guys got lost. Thank gawd you found your way out! #BigMalls shop is almost like an expedition. 😁

When malls in the Philippines are better than its airports. 😂Damn, SM Seaside Cebu looks better than Megamall. I want to go there. Well what I like in our malls is it got everything! Like a huge one-stop shop, in one huge building. I live in Dasmariñas and SM here is also pretty big.

I can’t wait to visit Cebu in December!!! Just a couple weeks ago I got to visit Manila, and it’s true about the Filipino malls! Got to see South Mall and MOA, and got LOST!!! I never get lost in the malls at home!

Me and my Filipina wife are going to Cebu City next Monday and I cant wait to visit this mall. Filipino malls are always cool

The mall has 4 access points marked by spiral staircases which are, in turn, color coded to help people navigate their way around the mall without getting lost. These access points are City wing which is marked by mustard yellow staircase, Cube wing with apple green staircase, Ocean wing with teal staircase and Mountain wing with orange staircase. These staircases also help people with cars coming in from the parking lots as exit points are also near these staircases.

I went there it’s huge!! I loved the top bit there and the view is amazing!! It took us all day to get around!

The tall structure (equivalent to 50-story building, standing right in the middle of the mall rising from a garden maze) is a viewing tower. The tower’s access points originate from City View and Ocean View wings. The topmost floors will soon host a sky bar and restaurant and a souvenir shop. The viewing deck will be below those floors. Unfortunately, Cebu City’s current mayor has an issue with SM management so he refused to issue a permit to open the tower which was originally scheduled to open in June last year.

Funny, it’s 3am here in Houston and just checked your channel like a couple of minutes ago wondering why you haven’t uploaded new vids yet LOL Oh boy, I’m not a fan of SM malls as it makes me tired from nonstop walking. But I do miss the Philippines’ mall concept of everything in one roof, from medical clinics to banks to pretty much everything.

There are actually 3 SM Malls in Cebu:1. SM City Cebu2. SM Seaside (the one you’re in)3. SM Consolacion

I live in cebu, and every time you complement our malls it makes my day!!!! 😍😍😍😍

I am glad that Daphne is there to give you extra inputs – helpful and informative ones. 👍🏼 thanks Daphne

I’ve lost myself in a number of huge Filipino malls time and time again lol, it’s always coming back to where you parked that’s the most confusing and exhausting journey

Proud to be a Cebuana and Filipino!

My feet literally hurt when I was walking around SM Seaside 😂 it’s too big!

I already went there!😄 I’m a Cebuana and yeah you’re right, SM Seaside is huge! We went to the Ciberzone and bought a printer for our school!😅😂 Share ko lang😂

“This country is amazing”. As a Sri Lankan that’s all I wanted to hear. Thanks so much guys. Really feeling the love ❤️

I don’t have words to thank you for all the effort you guys have given there. Cheers

I salute you, Tal and Brandon, for possessing golden hearts.

I’m so proud of you for putting all that effort to save that helpless cow’s life Brandon and Tal 😍 Such kind hearts. – another Sri Lankan 🙂

This is pretty interesting to watch. Very interesting presentation. A small correction though. Original Sri Lankans didn’t come from India across that bridge. Sri Lankan history dates further back. People still lived on this Island when Indians migrated here. That’s a bit of information for you guys. Keep doing great! Cheers

Welcome to the pearl of Indian ocean 🇱🇰❤

Congratulations Tal and Brandon! You made it! And thank you for being such great caring guys with really big hearts!!!

it’s more fun in the Philippines 😁

Hey guys, I think I saw you in Havana, Cuba. Here are the best places to visit in the Philippines. 1. Tagaytay – It’s a breathtaking view of an active volcano within the lake. Breezy weather and it’s only less than 2 hours from Manila.2. Baguio City – It’s the summer capital of the Philippines, a beautiful mountain city.3. Palawan – The Philippines last frontier. Host the underground subterranean river, one of 7 wonders of the world of nature, El Nido, and Coron.4. Cebu – Cradle of Philippines Christianity. One of the most beautiful islands in the Philippines, where you swim with the whale sharks, thousands of sardines, canyoneering in Badian and Gatorade blue water like Kawasan waterfalls.5. Bohol – The beaches, the chocolate hills, the rivers and the habitat of world’s smallest primate – the Tarsiers.6. Boracay – It’s a beautiful party island paradise.7. Siargao – Beautiful beaches, nature and surfing.8. Sagada – Banawe rice terraces and unique indigenous Igorot culture.9. Vigan, Ilocos Sur – Old Spanish city10. Batanes – The New Zealand of the Philippines. Where you can explore breathtaking sceneries and the unique Ibatan culture, in the farmost islands in the northern Philippines. But of course, there are thousands more to see other than what’s recommended! Enjoy!

Fellow American here, I visited the Philippines 2 times and loved it there, hope you enjoy you’re new adventure in manila, hopefully someday I can experience living there

been to the Philippines more than any other country after the USA. So much to do and see.

Hi Tal, I’m excited for you. I’m Filipino-American. While in Manila, you should visit MOA and Greenbelt Mall. Go eat some Filipino food at Max’s restaurant, Red Crab, Kamayan or Barrio Fiesta. The dishes there are Filipino and good. You should definitely tackle the Philippines by Geography and soak in the sun, beaches and ecotourism (hiking and waterfalls). I would visit Palawan, El Nido and Coron (1 1/2 weeks, Flight). I will visit Cebu too and the provinces, Cebu Island is huge (2 weeks, flight, bus and boat). Then Negros Occidental and Oriental (1 week, flight and bus). I will visit Northern Luzon too like Baguio, Vigan, Ilocos and Pampanga (bus from Manila). Good luck and have fun! Don’t drink the tap water. Buy bottled water 🙂 . Email me if you need help. Sometimes a nice local would be good as your tour guide around.

Woohoo fun times ahead 😊 The Filipino Clatt adventures begin 🙌

I lived in the Philippines for 18 months when I was in the USAF. I loved it! Try the pancit canton and the lumpia.

I spent some time in Seoul and enjoyed the Korean experience. I came in via ship at Inchon and flew out Kimpo. Looking forward to your Philippine visit.

Eyyy! Love that Ukulele Song! Mabuhay sa Lupaing Pilipinas!!! (welcome to the Land of Philippines) 🙂 Most foreigners come to our country to learn about our diverse culture. And always turned out in the end hating to leave the country because above everything else they learned to love the easy to love Filipinos who always have a big heart even to strangers and travelers. Have fun.. 🙂

Dude I never ever comment on YouTube videos, however you are the best travels blogger that I have watched. I appreciate the insight that you have given me and so many others. Your videos has given me bucket list places to visit and most importantly where and what to eat.

i’m Filipino, and you know, we welcome you here. i hope you can go to the provinces so you can enjoy the natural beauty of our country. you should travel in the islands of the Philippines because u can meet wonderful people here. our greatest value as a Filipino is being hospitable to others especially to those who are new here. so please take time to travel the islands here because it’s more fun in the Philippines.

I just got back from there. I enjoyed it. I spoiled myself too much with food & stuff =) I hope you’ll have fun as well. The ppl. are very friendly. It got cleaner as well. Go to Palawan, Puerto Princesa’s cave & Hundred islands. Try the thrill sports. They’re cheap! =)

Aw, he’s so excited! Btw, your facial expression everytime you mention Philippines , the eagerness is always there. Feel Philippines your home. Have fun and enjoy your stay. Ingat po kayo! Mabuhay!

Your subscribers should increase. Filipinos are very supportive. ✌ I hope you enjoy Philippines.

go to Bonifacio Global City. It’s the beautiful new part of Manila (even newer than Makati) Lots of interesting street art and green spaces

Hey Tal, glad you made it to my hometown. I’m sure you’ll have a great time there. But just so you know Filipinos are very friendly and hospitable but just like any other country, there’s always that bad apple who’ll try to scam you if your not careful. Enjoy your time there and eat a lot of Pancit, adobo, lumpias, dinuguan and a lot of seafood. ✌️ our!

Hey guys, very entertaining vlog! Just to let you know, in case you consider visiting the Southern Island of Mindanao, I retired here 10 years ago and hope you also get to the area. I know that anywhere in the provinces will be similar, except that soooo often you might be told that Mindanao is a dangerous place. Well, certain areas might be more problematic than others but I’ve never had any problems, so I hope you’re adventurous enough to be open to visiting here too!

That song is pure gold.I currently live in Toronto and teach an early morning class to youth age 14-18. Most of them are Filipino, and they are trying to teach me some Filipino words. I have got as far as Salamat and Mabuti. My son has difficulty saying mabuti cos he says it sounds a bit rude. =D

Welcome to the Philippines bros! Enjoy your stay, relax, eat good food, explore the best things our country has to offer and take care..

Love your channel. Would it be possible to list all the places you go in the description, and that way they would be easier to find? If not, that’s OK, I can just watch it again. Very informative, and I love a good dumpling.

Awesome vlog about NYC Chinatown! Loved it! Thank you Tal for your extraordinary effort in vlogging! Jay Jay and I are watching you from San Diego. You’re the best!

Awesome vblog Tal.. your NYC series is so informative. My wife and I are planning a trip back to NYC soon and you have opened our eyes to new places to explore. Especially the purse purchasing corner, haha. Thank you so much! I hope everyone shares your videos to others.

As well as cobblestone streets, SOHO is famous for their cast iron buildings…really beautiful …built in the 1800’s…mostly converted to residential lofts.. Greene St is my favorite street among Mercer, Greene, Wooster and West Broadway…check it out… great shops and cafes too! Don’t forget the Earth Room at 141 Wooster St and The Broken Kilometer at 393 West Broadway, both a part of www.diaart.org . Another great area to explore is East Chinatown across the Bowery, which encompasses Chrystie St, Allen St, Forsyth St, Eldridge St ( and the Eldridge St Synagogue) which all leads to the LES ( Lower East Side)… Have fun!!

Just found your channel. Learning new things about your city is always great to learn & watch. Keep up the great work, cannot wait for your channel to blow.

I’ve been to Chinatown many times yet here I am watching this 😂

I’m so damned exited to be visiting NYC in April. Your videos have been an appreciated informative guide for me! If I see you I’ll shout out!

This is great, I was wondering when you would do Chinatown! The parade is possibly to celebrate the community of people from Fujian Province. There isn’t a lot going there as far as jobs, so a lot of people from Fujian province move to the US and Canada. Primarily to work in Chinese buffets, and takeout places, and once they attain enough English, they move to smaller towns to open their own restaurants. Child labor is still pretty common, anything from putting lids on food containers to making dumplings to eventually working the phone or register. The Chinatown bus systems originally were created to ferry workers (and Chinese restaurant supplies) from the larger cities to smaller towns with jobs available, nearly ALL from Fujian province. I think the Lucky Star to the side of the Buddhist temple is the 3rd oldest bus system. Probably more than you wanted to know, huh?

You also forgot to point out that the Five Points area that was made famous in the Leo DeCaprio movie “Gangs of New York” essentially comprised a large portion of Chinatown, with the center of it pretty darn close to Columbus Park (the park you went to in Chinatown). The southern portion are where all of the government buildings now sit.

What a packed video. I loved it and I want to spend a week in China Town. That jerky looked great and it also looked like the perfect backpack food.

I remember living here in the late 80’s, and early 90’s! I was in elementary school then and went to P.S. 1 elementary school. Being African American, it was maybe 2 or 3 other African Americans at the school at that time. I had some fun times living here, and I can’t wait to visit as an adult.

a cool thing you can do in lion dance parades (only lion dance parades) is if you have a red envelope, you can feed the lion it and it will do a simple dance for you. you can also take picture as well depending on which group of lion dancing group your going to.

MALAY SUBTITLES : Part 6 of 617:27stesen tetapi itulah akhir dari kita17:29Pekan Cina Soho dan Kampung Itali membimbing saya17:32semoga kalian mendapat sedikit maklumat17:34daripada ini dan suka lagi dan17:35semua yang dipilih oleh panduan ini dan17:37pilih lokasi yang anda suka buat17:38jenis pengembaraan anda sendiri sepanjang17:40kawasan-kawasan di New York juga jika saya17:42terlepas apa-apa sila komen17:44di bawah dan beritahu saya cara yang lain17:46orang dalam komen dapat mencari17:47cadangan yang mungkin anda ada17:48melanggan dan memilih pemberitahuan supaya anda17:50jangan terlepas satu video kerana kami17:52merangkumi semua yang menarik dan terkenal17:53kejiranan di sini di Bandar Raya New York juga17:55jika anda mahu menyokong saluran ini, anda17:57beli beberapa barang seperti ini17:58hoodie ia akan berada di skrin sekarang atau di18:00keterangan di bawah di sinilah saya berada18:02akan menamatkan video ini. Sayang kamu semua18:03selamanya. Selamat tinggal18:05[Muzik]

Chinatown is by far the most authentic neighborhood in NYC. So old and historic. A true ethnic enclave that has continued to exist for over a hundred years.

This was awesome favorite places that I always drive through but never get to stop and take it all in. I’ve got little things here and there but I’ve never taken in the full scope of it the next time I go back I will make a whole day trip and try every food they have. Thank you for making this awesome video

Dude you earned your Subscription, great personality and I feel like I actually learned something.

Thank you so much for the video. It will help me for my trip in Feb 2020 and especially for the Chinese New Year parade. The restaurant recommendations are awesome. The video also gives me an idea on I should be dressed for the weather. I am so looking forward to the visit. Mahalo and Aloha !
