The secret to doing well in Papers, Please is that at the start of the game you don’t need to give reasons for denying people. For the first 10 to 15 days if you see any sort of error in the documents you can just give them the red stamp immediately because detaining them takes time and doesn’t give you a bonus, and using a reason for denial stamp isn’t required. You can process tons and tons of people really quickly in that first stretch and build up enough cash that you don’t have to worry about it for the back half of the game.Of course, that’s not what pretty much anyone does their first blind playthrough. But if you (Calli or any Dead Beats reading this) get the urge to replay the story, then that early earning is one of the easiest ways to remove the pressure from the parts of the game that require real concentration.

Omori is so mean to Sunny (Mori) because he literally represents all the negative thoughts Sunny has about himself. That he’s selfish. A burden. A liar putting on a face so his friends won’t hate him. A sick and useless person. He has been suicidal for years. This is him finally confronting those thoughts instead of pushing them away. And it’s harder than anything he’s ever done. Because confronting your demons is harder than just ignoring them.Omori will not succumb, because your darkest thoughts are never beaten. You can triumph over them time and time again but they’ll always be there. Sunny can’t defeat Omori. The best you can ever do is come to terms with them.

This stream has left me both physically and emotionally exhausted, this game really is something special, it is rare for a video game to evoke the amount of emotion out of me that Omori was able to. I was originally going to wait until the switch release to pick this game up but now I am on way to buy it on steam and 100% over the next couple weeks. to Omocat for making an excellent game and to Calli for playing this game because it probably would have flew under my radar otherwise

What an incredible way to spend a Sunday. I never thought I’d see a game portray grief in such a creative, yet grounded and understandable way. You have so much of my respect for how you treated the material, knowing when to crack jokes and when to be serious. Thanks for introducing us to this game, Calli.

When you go to sleep, wake up, and Calli is still streaming

Up until the end, I was really really relating to Omori. When I was younger, i lost someone who was essentially my big sister too. It warped my whole personality afterwards. I became closed off and passive. Death is a hard thing to overcome, and you are always bombarded with the dumbest thoughts. “Why wasn’t it me”, “she deserved life more”. Funny now, almost 13 years later and It still hurts. There is still an empty space where she was.At the end, I was relating to everything even moreso. Sometimes all I can think about is how worthless I am. Or I feel I’d be better off dead. I try and try to be better, but it never seems to go anywhere. Deep down I know it’s because I dont try hard enough though. I still run from my emotions. I still isolate myself from others. I still lay in bed and waste so much life.This was an amazing game. I hope in the end of my journey, I can find the strength to move on. From depression, from the feeling of worthlessness, and try to experience life getting better. To allow myself peace of mind, and to smile. As long as you are alive, life can be better and so can you.I really wish I could have worked on this game. It almost feels as though, the version of me who became successful in another lifetime helped make it. That is both simultaneously upsetting and inspiring to me.Thankyou for playing this game. It was a rollercoaster and I was in tears a lot of the time. I’ve never seen a game that I felt was talking directly to me. And thankyou to the creators for making it. You did a wonderful job.

I genuinely cried buckets of tears when Final Duet played

What can I say except wow, I stayed the whole time and it was amazing. I haven’t cried in quite some time but the ending gave me such a release of emotions, thanks for introducing me to this game Calli! p.s. 2:28:40 for those that missed the mirror scare.

No matter how many times I’ve seen or played this game, I can say that this game is one of the most beautiful, creative and well thought out game. All of the characters are so well developed that you feel as if you’re part of the story that you can relate to. Even through the memories experienced within the game, it feels as if you were a part of it and gives off that nostalgia feeling. There were many moments filled with highs and lows from hope, friendships, sadness and grief that had a very powerful effect. Which made me a lot more emotional that I thought it would have. I’m glad that I watched Calli’s first experience through it all. Thank you for this wonderful stream. I loved every second of it, right from the very beginning of the this story all the way till the best ending.

I’m glad I watched through the end! Hero’s moments are always the ones that make me tear up. His first appearance as a college student was one of the moments that made me tear up, especially considering what he went through in the past and how he grew up and matured as a person. After realizing how much he values Mari so much just made me respect him more, because he was able to stay strong even after all that happened. Dude is such a chad throughout the game. I’ll give this game a shot too in the future!

Thank you Calli for this entire memorable stream. This is definitely gonna be one of those long comments, but I’m proud to say I was here from start to finish to have endured physically and emotionally through it all even when I was tempted to click away during some of the… More triggering moments, I should say. So many moments, so many emotions… It’s hard to sum them up in one comment you know? I don’t think I could if I tried and even then I’ll try my best to do so. But this entire journey… We wouldn’t have been here on it without this game being made by everyone from OMOCAT and their team involved involved, without you having been recruited by Hololive and coming into our lives as our favorite Reaper, without all of us, every single one of us having lived the lives that we lived up to this point and as we continue into the future as well. Underneath the game’s cute aesthetics, and the fun gameplay. How deep the story goes, the lessons it has to teach. I feel that is more timeless than anything else. Especially with its themes of forgiving yourself, and fighting self-doubts that it goes into. Without going too much of my own past, I know that’s something I still struggle with sometimes even now, but it’s important to move on from the past to make a brighter future as much as one possibly can. Though it also shows the power that any one of us can have no matter how big or small we are, to impact another’s life. This is why I appreciate creativity in all its forms so much, is for moments like this where it makes us feel things we might not have otherwise, and to bond together with those who enjoy the same things, even if our own experiences are different from each other.
