Blade – Elven Flame – process
(c) shurap The process of manufacturing a blade of Damascus steel in the technique of poetic Damascus. It should have been a flame in the center of the blade – it did not …
Aweeesome 🙂
This guy forges all the special weapons you get for important quests
Allowing this man to participate in “forged in fire” would signify the end of the show… No one would ever be able to live up to whatever he created
That I got to say was wicked cool!
Absolutely beautiful my friend, you’re one of the most unique blacksmiths on YouTube by my opinion
I’ve been watching blade making and reading books on it for 20 years, yet you have made patterns I’ve never seen before (this is my 6th video). A true master of the art.
The amount time, energy, skill, and patience this requires is just staggering. That blade looks amazing.
That’s a beautiful damascus pattern, the finished blade looks great 🙂 I would enjoy seeing a handle added, maybe a collab with another maker
4:15 – Wow… I can never complain about radiant heat when I TIG weld ever again.
A faca ficou muito bonita! Ainda pretendo fazer uma faca simples. Seu trabalho excelente, t de parabns!
Watching a video like this is so incredible and in a way inspiring. Seeing what people are capable of making out of their passion with experience and dedication. I hope to someday attempt to make one of these with the help of a blacksmith, it would be a great experience.
Amazing work on that pattern, looks really good!!!
That is absolutely beautiful! I just love the Damascus patterns in it and you have done a wonderful job! Thank you sir, you have a good life and bless you!
To be able to apprentice under this genius would be a privilege. Amazing work.
This might be the coolest pattern I’ve seen. I want one!!
Perforated Damascus Steel. Not for use on the planet.
(c) shurap Lightweight Damascus steel, with a reduced coefficient of friction and with reduced sticking when cutting dense materials. The blade is made from the motor …
This be the dude that touches the red metal and be like “yup, that’s the right temp”
So it’s Damascus steel, Void salts and the Skyforge got it
For all the glove comments it’s actually safer to not wear gloves as you get a quicker hotter burn but it doesn’t last for long. If you get burned with a glove the glove gets hot and burns you and it’s really hard to take off a burning glove fast so you get more burn. And you can catch gloves in angle grinders, drills and drill presses so its safer to not wear gloves when forging
The true question here is “will it keal?”
*Infomercial voice“Are you tired of your knives being easy to wash? Do your Crocs not match any of your kitchen utensils? Hi, Billy Mays here…”
I got to say as someone who has no idea what is going on this is pretty entertaining to watch
Him: WorkingSafety Officer: Am i joke to you?
I feel like this is the heavy metal of the ASMR world!
This dude be taking a bath in a lava pool and still stay: “Damn, not warm enough”
I’m gonna just sub and hit the bell. Every time one of your videos is in my feed you make a stunning piece.
The fact he almost never wears gloves fuels my anxiety
Hands down some of the most beautiful work I’ve seen.
Here’s a good question, can you use kerosene as a flux in a coal forge? From what I’ve read you have to be careful not to disturb it while it oxidized, which doesn’t seem possible if you’re shoving it into a pile of coal
That is so dope. Probably one of my favorites so far!
That’s an awesome knife. I would love to have one for my collection.
I love it, he wacks away skillfully at a sick ass blade and then just puts the kettle on and is like “yo, check this out this tea ball flower, alrighty back to it”
Beautiful. Also appreciated the tea break. I enjoy blooming teas myself.💗
Damascus steel is so cool! I love seeing what sorts of things can make what kind of pattern.
The most awesome of your creations I have yet seen!
Molecular programming of steel blade
(c) shurap Molecular programming of steel. The term I decided to use, for the benefit of those who are not satisfied with the term Damascus steel – the secret of which they …
Rather beautiful, If you made that into a sword, you would own YouTube.
You could read about this process as many times as you’d like. But, seeing it being done is absolutely magical. About the only other thing that compares is the making of candy canes…which actually involves a similar process. Great video!
Beautiful blade! You’re an artist with steel.
Wow, that’s the most beautiful damascus pattern I’ve ever seen
One of the best patterns I’ve ever seen!! Nice work!
It’s so nice seeing the progression you’ve made since now. You’ve always been a beast in the forge though.
Another wonderful blade. You truly are a great artist and one of the best blade makers I have ever seen.
Beautiful work! Absolutely stunning!
The pattern you made is absolutely beautiful! It looks like fire across a field with explosions, it’s amazing and I love it!
Beautiful blade!Amazing how many internet commentators are willing to share their depth of experience!
Dmitri, that’s a GORGEOUS pattern! My one regret is that I can’t afford one of your beautiful blades.

My knowledge of etiquette may be a bit off, but I do believe this is the correct utensil to use for cutting the heart out of a dragon. 😀

You would crush it on the show, “Forged In Fire.”
You are amazing at this. Some of the best work I’ve seen. The precision and the details are spot on. Only one suggestion. Please complete the blade with a handle. It holds equal importance as the blade. The video would be a bit longer but the craftsmanship will be appreciated. You have great skill making a blade. I recon you can do great job with the handle as well.
The demostration of forging, tempering and sharping were most intersting. Thank you !!!! Excellent video!
That’s a genius way to make pattern welded steel and gradient hardness scale through a blade. This would be, technically, a fantastic method for making a Roman gladius or Viking style sword, with an incredibly hard edge but flexible blade.
Perfeito…belssimo trabalho, obra digna de exposio.
Another beautiful knife, I really need to get started on forging
Belssimo! Lindo ver um mestre trabalhando. E o ferreiro est usando casaco na forja! Deve ser um lugar muito frio!
Absolutely beautiful work!
Well done, Maestro! Some explanation of the voo-doo, magic dusts, tools, etc (few words caption) would have been wonderful!
Increble. Vaya pieza!!! Felicidades
This guy earns mine and few other hundred thousand subscribes! Amazing metal artworking! Amazing!
Wow. That is so cool. Beautiful work. I wish I could learn how to work with steel. I wonder if you can take a class on forging???
Beautiful work. Those blades look amazing, and with a 62 Rockwell rating they wont lose their edge anytime soon. 🙂
You understand how to make the steel become art. Just wonderful! Thank – you again for sharing.
Goodness me! Absolutely Stunning… One of the best I have seen yet. Thank
It was a pleasure watching a skilled craftsman like yourself. Beautiful work.
Wow! That is gorgeous! Such a nice divide between the two surfaces.
Damascus steel from 1000 year old knife blades.
(c) shurap I make a blade using the blacksmith welding method (Damascus steel), from the blades of the Kievan Rus period 882-1240. Tea: mojito green tea …
You’re melting 1,000 year old blades?! Archaeologists everywhere are having a heart attack.😏
Linda. Uma verdadeira obra de arte 😍
The chilli was to add a fire-based damage over time debuff for anyone searching the comments 🌶🌶
This is one of my favorites. The pattern is striking and that it’s made of ancient blades is really awesome.
Amazing looking. I know this video condenses the process, but how long does it actually take to make this blade?
Esses profissionais em ao Damasco so simplesmente incrveis !!
Absolutely beautiful! From one thousand year old steel, now that is repurposing at it’s finest!
The control this guy has on that press is astonishing. I kept waiting for him to apply too much pressure on that thin blade and seeing it drop away.
Great stuff! A master at work! Thank you for sharing!
Looks so cool brother. I love watching your videos. The patterns on the blades look so beautiful when you are all done!
That was an amazing result. I love how you’ve engineered everything to have such small room for error. Top tier setup.
I would have loved to have seen a cut test video of this blade, I suspect it will hold up against quite a severe amount of use.
Absolutely the best I’ve ever seen. Beautiful!
I think the old timers that made those blades originally would seriously appreciate this. My hat’s held high to you counselor.
You are a true artist, I enjoy watching your work! I wish I could afford one of your knives so ill just admires your work! Thank You
4:50 in this video, favorite thing in the world. Looks like it’s dripping
