By far the best tutorial yet. To make it even easier, I fold the two mask pieces in quarters, fold the pattern in quarters and use a rotary cutter to quickly cut them out (just place a ruler over each of the three cutting sides). I also made a template of the markings so that I can just place the template over each end and quickly mark the center and the other two marks. It fits both my husband and myself and finally we can breathe!!

Made four masks last night this is the best pattern, and I have used many, made many masks for family and nurses. Fits snugly, easy and fast to make, little sewing in the front so fewer needle holes for aerosols to sneak through! Many thanks.

Thank you for sharing this breathable mask. I had to rewind several times to get the correct measurements. I made it but it’s really big from the mouth in front. But I know what the purpose is for, to have room to breathe. I made some adjustments and it’s not protruding as much, and you can still breathe. 😊

LOVE this mask! So much easier than the other ones I have tried. My grandchildren – ages 18-11 love it. They can actually breathe while wearing it. Would appreciate sizes for children that are younger.

I’ve used your pattern and made a few dozen face masks. Everyone who got one (or more) loved the comfort. The only thing I did different was place a strip of floral wire for a nose guard. Thanks so much for your tutorial! I have sewn at least a thousand face masks since the demand arose, but I had used a different pattern, and it was very much liked, as well. But his mask got immediate raves from my friends and family.

Your video is the only one that makes folding the pleats very easy. Just the style of pleats I was looking for. Thank you so very much.

Great idea to not have to sew around the piece once and turn it, and then again to top stitch. I think the recommendation is to have all the pleats going down, but love that it only has to be sewn once. Big help.

Thanks, Mia. I’ve tried about 5 or 6 patterns and like yours the best. Those side pieces can add a little bit of extra creativity by using different fabric/colours. I like your way with the elastic because it allows each person to adjust their own size and it can be replaced. Once elastic is sewn in, that’s it! I also add an aluminium nose strip in the top which is really necessary for glasses wearers.

It’s so satisfying to watch you! I usually take one or two stitches on the V-neck between the two legs of the V. Sew the first side, pivot halfway and sew 1 or 2 stitches (depending on the fabric thickness), and then finish the second half of the pivot and finish sewing the second side. For me, this gives a crisper and more defined point on the right side of the item. I will have to practice a LOT more to make my points as gorgeous and as quickly as yours! Thanks for using a thread with lots of contrast, so your demonstrations are visible! 😍😍💗💗
