Love that you use simple tools.

It’s lined with cardboard? That won’t last long. The concept is great though. I think maybe lining it with plastic sheeting or landscaping fabric would make it last longer though.

This is an awesome project. I’ll save the video so I can make it. But I will use it to plant vegetables. I think at the bottom I’ll plant potatoes and carrots. In the middle tray done strawberry plants and on the top some garden herbs

What a complication … I do the same with a pot full of soil without drainage, I plant the seeds and cover it with a large plastic bottle, basically what is a greenhouse.The result is the same.

Looks like this film was made by the plastics industry, promoting the idea that the zillions of poly-bottles they make every day can be put to some good secondary use: which, evidently, they can’t.

You can directly put them into the earth and it will be faster. You don’t need to cut the ends of each clove either.

This is so difficult process . I just put the garlic directly into the garden, and it sprouted in few weeks. As simple as that 🙂

Personally I have found simply planting the cloves straight where they will grow works great. Maybe I have been lucky.

J� plantei alho mas foi diretamente na terra foi muito mais simples, a germina��o foi excelente! Seguindo o mesmo princ�pio, cortar a ponta do dentinho do alho e enterrar.

I get the Idea , it make them grow a little easier / faster ect .Usefull , Yes .You could just soak the end of the whole garlic and wait and it grow roots but then you have to seperate them later , here you do in beginnig .It is Wort trying this .

This happens automatically in my vegetable draw in fridge so I usually just plant them directly in the soil as the roots push right out in the fridge

You definitely can plant the garlic straight in the ground, but I tried this method with my students for our plant unit in Science. The students loved it. They were able to draw and chart the growth of the garlic and just yesterday we planted the bulbs in soil. It is their Father’s Day gift along with a book of garlic recipes to try out. A little time-consuming if you just want to plant garlic, but a fun way for the students to see the growth of a plant and a little more interesting than beans in a jar with moist paper towel. (Not that the students don’t enjoy that experiment as well.
