Visiting the Dracula Castle in Transylvania, Romania
(c) Gabriel Traveler A tour of Bran Castle in Transylvania, Romania, associated with the story about Count Dracula. Check out “Following My Thumb”, …
*The real Castle Dracula is his Poenari location….everyone always mixes the two up!*https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poenari_Castle
Dracula is a really really good book, everyone who’s a fan of the vampire genre should read it.
Great video, but the real castle of “Count Dracula”(Vlad Tepes) is Cetatea Poenari that is near Lake Vidraru at the beginning of Transfagarasan road(in the heart of Romania) not in Moldova.
Romania is beautiful country. I was there last July..
It’s been 6 years since last time I’ve seen my land. Last time I saw Brașov was winter too. Miss the snow. The cold. The smell of winter in the mountains. This year I’m coming back in vacation so I’m excited about it.. Oh.. For us Vlad Țepeș is an inspiration, iconic our prince The one who dared to fight against otomans 🇹🇷. The one who belong to the Order of the dragon – Societas Draconistarum. A true hero a true legend. And legends never dies..
Loving your videos of Transilvania, one of the most traditionally kept and enchanting regions in Europe!
Romania is a gorgeous country and that castle is splendid! 👍👍👍🧛🏻
Hi Gabriel. I appreciate the comprehensive way in which you have synthesized all the information collected during your trip to the Bran castel.Regards from Romania !
It looks like you are really digging Romania. I can’t wait to go back this summer.
Anyone can read the true story of Vlad Dracula on Wikipedia. Since so many tourists came to Romania and wanted to see a place that has a connection to Dracula (and because other citadels where he actually lived in are much harder to get to) someone chose Bran as that place to mimic Dracula’s place. But Transylvania was then under Hungarian rule (Bran region was populated by Germanic people) and Vlad was a prince in Wallachia (southern Romania) so he was just a visitor to Bran & locked there. Actually Vlad was taken by the ottomans to Istanbul as a kid then returned to fight them at home because he was a devoted Christian as his father. His father was a member of the Dragon Order, a Christian order (following the footsteps of the Crusades orders) of the Holy Roman Empire meant to fight the enemies of Christianity.
I went there in 2016. It’s an amazing place and the castle is beautiful. I highly recommend it.
We, Romanians, are glad that you enjoyed your visit to our beautiful country.
Just to know: the Dracula castle is actually named the Bran castle
Interesting place and you did a great job explaining some of the history of Vlad the impaler. The portraits of him made him look quite scary. Good thing you left before dark!
Oh, Gabriel . . . I love this video that you have so thoughtfully succinctly made the history of the origins of the land, the ancestry of the Romanians kings and queens who lived and called this beautiful grandeur (“Vlad’s Fortress”) as the mysterious story of the Irish Author the distinguished (“Bram Stoker’s”) depiction of the people of Romania folklore of the (“Lord Vlad”) who established the lore of { ” Lord Vlad as the impaler”) premise for { Honourable Bram Stokers } world famous fiction account for his { 1882?? Dracula } I am impressed with your cheerful 😀 smile and intriguing way as a very good (Gabriel Traveler) history teacher for all of us. ❇ ❇ ❇ ❇ ❇ -Five Stars performance. Ha Ha Ha. Are you smiling for I am smiling with the Lord and you. 📸 Well – Done Gabriel 😁 Shalom Gabriel
That’s pretty awesome, love this historical stuff
Perfect explanation and footage of the whole storys history! Videos get better and better. Keep it up man!
This is truly an awesome video! Thank you for making this for all of us to see this historic site in its modern environment.
Thank you! Brought back great memories of the years that we lived in Romania.
Looks like the village has changed since Dracula’s demise. But the spirit of the Vampire still lives within this castle.
A TOUR OF ISTANBUL, TURKEY | This City Is Incredible!
(c) Gabriel Traveler Exploring fascinating Istanbul, the largest city of Turkey. NEED GEAR FOR YOUR TRAVELS? Visit Gabriel’s Amazon e-store for …
Love Turkey.. never been there but certainly its on top of my list of must visit… beautiful country, beautiful city, beautiful people and awesome food
I visited Istanbul for a week in 2017. This video is very nostalgic and brings back lot of memories. Istanbul is a very lively city, with amicable people, enriched with history and culture.
I love Istanbul and everytime when i see vlogs like this I get so jealous :DIstanbul is an amazing city! It‘s a masterpiece
You do a great job capturing the feel of daily life in Istanbul.
One of the most beautiful places in the world… Twists and surprises in every turn… Wanna go there so badly… Great video as always… love the new editing style. 👍👍
Wonderful, as always!! I love Turkey!! Totally amazing!!
Turkey is one of the most beautiful countries in the world
I’ve been in Istanbul and was really amazed with this city.
So much goodness in here, Istanbul looks fascinating.
Istanbul is amazing, you literally need weeks to explore the city.Btw, public transport is quite efficient and cheap, you should buy an Istanbul pass at the airport and you’ll be able to use all the transport there from trains to metro to buses. An alternative and faster way to reach the other side of the European part to Hagia Sophia would be taking the metro from Taksim or from Şishane stations at the end of Istiklal Cd
This is a beautiful view of how lovely the city of Istanbul is. Would love to see it one day. Your videos are always informative as well as good filming thanks for sharing. Happy travels and greetings from New York 🌃 City ❤️ love your videos. God bless you, Happy safe 😃 Travels.
BIG fan of Istanbul! Captivating city, fantastic food and very welcoming and gracious people. Can’t ask for more.
Aww Istanbul what a great city I’ve been there twice myself and I can’t wait to go back there again soon. Great people to. Love your videos also interesting to see where you go next. And I loved your Greece videos to
I’ll admit, without cinematic editing, for me the video feels more raw (of course), immersive, and real. A pleasant surprise.

Hey Gabriel Traveler, I really appreciate your videos and what you do! It has inspired me to create my own hiking videos and give more people the chance to see some fantastic parks and preserves starting in the united states, and hopefully growing to a point where we can give an audience a GLOBAL experience like what you do! Thank you so much!
Everybody go to Istanbul, Antalya, Bodrum or Kapadoya even tough there are also many things to be seen in the rest of Turkey, especially in Anatolia, if you are an history enthusiast you can also go to Corum and see the place where there was the Hittite Empire. You can also go to Bursa to see very beautiful houses from the Ottoman Empire time and also very old mosquee too, they still have very old bridges one that even has a closed market on it.For people that are nature enthusiast they should see Van, or the north of Anatolia.Mardin has also a very specific beautiful landscape.Anyway, try to visit others parts from Turkey seriously it is worth.
Gabriel, you have a really amazing and unique talent of transporting someone watching one of your videos right into wherever you are like we are walking along with you. My wife and I always say that. And your camera work gets better and better all of the time. Love it! Oh and hi from the Bay Area!
i love all abt turkey, the drama series, horror movies, the cultures and the country, its so amazing, cok guzel.so bless whoever born in turkey.may God bless this country always.#muchlovefromindonesia
Great vlog!! This city is really magical. I really enjoyed my days in Istanbul. 😊
A Tour Of BODRUM, TURKEY | Is It Worth Visiting?
(c) Gabriel Traveler Exploring the small, pleasant city of Bodrum on the Aegean Sea of southwestern Turkey. NEED GEAR for your adventures?
Some people have complained about the music and asked why I didn’t use Turkish music. The reason is that there are restrictions regarding music that is used in videos for Youtube. Basically, you can’t use any music that is copyrighted or your video will be demonetized. So most Youtubers, including myself, get the music they use from certain sources that offer music that isn’t copyrighted, for example the Youtube audio library which offers free music for Youtubers to use. Plus I pay a monthly fee for Epidemic Sound, a website that creates music that can be used in Youtube videos. Point being, you are limited by what you can find from those few sources of music. And unfortunately there often isn’t music that is specific to certain countries, so you have to use something else. I searched for Turkish music, but there was nothing distinctly Turkish. Here’s a video with more info about using music in Youtube videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVXMfASGaUs
My first holiday out of the UK was Bodrum Turkey, I have been to many places since then but Bodrum is my all time fav destination. The people are so nice and friendly and to me that really makes for a great holiday.
I love Turkey for it’s beautiful country, gorgeous food and friendly people (most of them)
i’m currently watching this turkish series “sefirin kizi” and this is where they are filming so it’s nice to see more in depth of the place. great video. bodrum looks so beautiful.
I miss Türkei ❤️😍 cant wait to go back again 💞 beautiful nature, amazing food, lovely people 💕..
If the world were a single State Turkey should have been it’s Capital . What an amazing ambiance and what history . The most enchanting and magnificent country in the world !
I love, love this country! Visited last summer, Capadocia, Istamb,Pamukkale and more! Would love to go to Bodrum. Would love to live there for a few months too!😊👍💞.
Lots of history there. Beautiful weather.
Bodrum is a beautiful place like Turkey in general …. beautiful culture…. tradition … lovely people and language
While on the Turkish riviera I also recommend visiting the biggest city there, Antalya. Amazing city and so beautiful!
This is a very well known tourist destination for package holidays and popular for many years, mostly European holiday makers since the 70’s have been going there, organised by big holiday companies.
I love Bodrum❤️ it is better than you see in this video. I live in US, but my heart is in Turkey. I believe, one day I will live in Bodrum 🤗❤️
What a beautiful place!! Ahh.. missing holidays 😞
Turkey is a country really worth seeing🙂
Turkey has so many amazing destinations. It’s also incredible how the ancient ruins etc were saved by Ottoman and Turks and reconstructed. Btw, Gabriel haha you only know 2 words and are pronouncing them poorly haha.
Turkey is such a beautiful country I want to visit 😍😍😍😍📍
Alikarnassos was a buzzing Greek city for thousands of years and it’s still a gem💖
My wife and I stayed in Gumbet which was so beautiful. We used to visit Bodrum by bus which was so cheap. Totally loved Turkey and we ended up staying for 11 nights.
This place looks absolutely Beautiful! Added to my bucket list! 👍
Very good video. I like the fact that you are interested in history of places you visit. Most people don’t give a dumn, they just go to the beach. It was very interesting and informative. The triangle greek letter (Δ) is a capital Delta (pronunciation thelta, like in words the or this)In the last line of that inscription I can read also the word MNHMA so it has to be a tombstone.
Exploring HONOLULU, HAWAII: Walking to Waikiki Beach
(c) Gabriel Traveler Walking around Honolulu, Hawaii and swimming at famous Waikiki Beach. Need TRAVEL INSURANCE? Here’s the company I …
Nice one! Looking forward to your coming adventures, Gabe! 🙏
I`ve visited Honolulu, Hawaii more 14 times so far, and I`m quite sure this is the most beautiful place in the world. However, 13 years have already passed since I visited there the last time, and I miss Honolulu very much. If you can afford to, I strong recommend all of you to visit Honolulu, Hawaii, and you`ll be hocked on it. Greetings from Yokohama, Japan.
Visited Honolulu December 2018. We went around the entire island twice …can NOT stop thinking about my trip to Oahu!
Took a trip back in August. Literally the most beautiful place ever 😍😫 Great vibes
I really enjoyed your Hawaii trip. I love Kauai so much and want to explore the other islands to some day. It’s awesome to see what they look like before I get to go.
Your travel videos are inspirational👍 I look forward to your adventures in Japan.
beautiful! Gonna miss your Hawaii vids but excited to see Japan
Sometimes I can’t believe how much I miss this place, considering life was kind of a struggle while I was there
Great video really giving a good feel for the city, can’t wait to go!
just returned from one week in Oahu, first trip to Hawaii. Despite being crowded and quite commercialized, I did enjoy the Waikii area. Seeing you in the water makes be feel like I am back there swimming in the beautiful blue water. Can’t wait to return someday. Thanks for sharing
I watched all your Hawaii videos, I’ve never been there so you’ve inspired me to go! Also, I like to randomly choose one of your destinations to binge and just finished Romania – cool perspective on a country I would never think about. Keep up the great work!
I’ve just returned…what a beautiful place Hawaii is I’ve already missed it
Just found you, Gabriel. Love this video style (I feel like I’m walking around!) and can’t wait to check out the rest of your Hawaii videos. I’m part Hawaiian and would love to move there someday. Safe travels!
Awesome video! Loved our time in Hawaii 😀
It’s a gorgeous beach!! 🤙🏼🌺🌈
Hi Gabriel, Waikiki was very nice but crowded more of the tourist trappings like most if not all major visited places in the world.
We love your style of filming, Gabriel 👍 its like we follow you along the track😊 keep filming like this. Your travel buddys Franzi and Ricardo 😆
Very touristy place but I can see why. Lovely beach!
Very nice beach 😍😍😍 excited to see Japan videos ❤
Ah, sweet Honolulu! We just came back from a month vacation. How I want to just go back and live there forever and ever! Ugh, we didn’t know of the food trucks you just showed. The only food truck we ate from was the one by the lagoon.
Exploring Crazy, Beautiful Kathmandu & Nepal Travel Tips
(c) Gabriel Traveler Walking through the streets of Kathmandu while discussing some practical info and tips for traveling and trekking in Nepal.
One of my favorite countries! Trekking the Himalayas and walking around Kathmandu is like a different world from the US. Which is awesome!
Great Job Bro, you are the G for all new travellers like me.
This is so interesting! I live in Hawaii, travelled all over Europe but it is Kathmandu that I want to see the most. It looks so different from everything that I have seen! Can’t wait for visiting Nepal.
It’s like an ant hill with thousands of them packed in and trying to get around each other.
I visited Kathmandu a couple of years ago after wanting to go there my whole life. I was terribly disappointed, but due more to that dream of going there 30 years ago. When I think about Kathmandu now two years later, and watching your video I know I will be back there one day. It is a great place.
Brings back my memories of being in Nepal in Nov. 2018….EBC trek. This was a dream of mine since 1971. Unfortunately on the 3rd day of the trek I had a very bad fall injuring my right wrist, arm and shoulder. It had MAJOR swelling. Got to Namche and took a helicopter to Lukla for a trip back to Kathmandu so I could go to the hospital. Nothing like have a life long dream come to a screeming halt . It was like I got kicked in the jaw. It hurts to this day that my dream came up short. Loved what I saw…very eye opening…so beautiful
I’m visiting Nepal next December 2021 for the first time since I migrated to America at a very young age. Great video and helpful tips thank you sir 🙏🏼
Kathmandu has a lively vibe, it’s pretty noisy and looks hectic but is chilled at the same time, the beautiful shrines, food corners, pretty shops and overall relaxed people, what I love is even just wandering around the streets for no reason is very fascinating, as a person who lived in Kathmandu for 10 years and is badly missing the noise and the crowd, I loved how this video captures the raw feeling of the streets and bazaar of Kathmandu. If only the construction work of roads, the huge mess of electric wires and the motorbikes could be managed, Kathmandu would be even more magical.
Two of the best photographers ever. I feel like I’ve traveled the world with you two. Thanks so much for a decade of amazing adventures.
I have never thought of going to Nepal before but now I really want to visit!
Good to see you back here Gab! Your visit to Nepal last time was fantastic. I’ve been watching you since you 4-5 years old Nepal’s videos! Hopefully, I don’t die of nostalgia. :DEdit: Kathmandu’s population is actually 5 million.
Been 6years I have not been able to go back to my country, Thank you for taking me down to all those corners and spots where I used to wait for my bus after school, places where I used to shop starting from Asan, those crowds and chaosAnd the best part is you took the same way I used to walk while returning home instead of taking bus❤️
I have Nepalese friends here in Philippines. They are very kind and polite people I’ve ever met..
I missed Nepal❤️ can’t wait to come there in next time❤️Lots love from Idaho USA❤️😍
You’re in one of my favorite cities! Been three times, can’t wait for the fourth time.I recognize so many places from this video–It’s almost like being there again. Keep on posting!
I’ve been fortunate enough to have a few Nepalese friends. I’m from Australia. Nepalese that I’ve met are always hard working, have the best work ethics, respectful, proud of their country & culture. Nepalese parents raise their kids well. I’ve never thought I’d be interested to travel to Nepal but once traveling reopens, I’ll definitely visit! ❤️ From Australia. Great video
Props! I like your “on the move” style. Explaining while showing the Nepalese sights. Hard to film, but a treasure to watch!
Amazing video Gabriel, such a brilliant way to show us what its really like in a place, I just subscribed to your channel, cant wait to watch every one of your videos, I myself traveled for 12 years, left Ireland in 2000, returning in 2012, cant wait to travel again when this lockdown and virus is all over, thanks man.
Been living in USA for 5 years for my education but can’t wait to visit my country . Missing Nepal so much.
this video did remind me, that my trip to Nepal in 2008 actually took 24 days in total and the trekking trik in the Kangchenchunga region took around 18 or 20 days including the short first day and the last day, were we waited for the airplane. I don’t know, why I mentioned 15 days lately. I think, because of the resting days and adaptation days we had, where we didn’t hike. I personally was practicay draged there by friends ;-D maybe that is why it all is a blur. but I have so vivid memories of Kathmandu. wondering around. we stayed at Tamel. I loved it there. I still hope, I can get there again within the next years.
