Helsinki Travel Guide & Finnish Cuisine in Finland
(c) Nomadic Samuel – Travel Channel Finland is my favorite country in Europe and Helsinki is where all of my journeys in this wonderful country have began and ended.
It was a shame you didn’t show the amazing old military fortifications of Suomenlinna, as it used to be our defense against attacks from the sea. But altogether a great video of our capital 🙂
Wow great to see you enjoying Finland so much! I’m from Rovaniemi Lapland so if you ever have the chance to visit Finland around the winter time, you should definitely explore Lapland! Lapland is great in the summer also (there are days when the sun doesn’t set at all). 🙂
Sam I love watching you and Audry. We’re going to Budapest in June, and looks like we may have to take a flight with a 15 hr layover in Helsinki. Any tips for stuff to do?
Thanks for the Helsinki videos, cool to see your own city through visitors eyes! Now in the winter is miss all that light and green.
Thanks for this video, my Euro vacation starts in 2 months, after 30 countries vacations/working/living, it is the best thing to be in Helsinki for a long vacation.
Nice that you tasted reindeer meat but those dishes was not really the real reindeer flavor experience. If you can find a restaurant (mostly more expensive), try Poronkristys with potato sauce and cranberry jam. It’s the original reindeer dish. Reindeer meat is expensive because it’s like the caviar of meat.
Love all of your videos, you guys are great! Very inspirational!
I actually love these videos you guys made about Finland, So thank you!
You`re literary the first foreigner that I`ve seen enjoying salmiakki:) Alone for that you have my respect!
I’m so happy to have come across your video. I have already visited Helsinki twice and your video has given me even more reason to return there this summer. I had no idea about the salty licorice flavored ice cream. salmiakki, I believe. Where exactly is that kiosk located? That will be THEE first thing I try when I go back. Thanks for the tip! Happy travels 🙂
This video is the next best thing to being in Finland. Thanks for posting !
Everytime I go somewhere new I check Sam & Audrey videos first, I think its fair to say your videos have come a long way since you did this one, very useful though 🙂
Just got back from Finland again ourselves visiting family like we do every year or so… Love your take on Helsinki.Too bad you did not get a good shot of the “Suomenlinnan Kirkko”, the church on the island of Suomenlinna where you saw the wedding. It is one of the only churches in the world that doubles as a lighthouse! You can easily see it at night from the market downtown… Cheers
I love this video the most out of all the video’s I’ve seen about Finland, thank you. I would LOVE the Salmiakki.
Loved it! Planning my trip to Helsinki and certainly helped! Any advice? 😀
You both have nice personalities, you give good information and you’ve got the music just right..I hope you go to Philippines sometime…You now have a new subsciber ! Well done !Alan i’m English and live on Margarita Island

It’s my first day in Seoul and I’m trying to figure out what to do while I’m here. I live in Shanghai and have traveled a lot through Asia. What I like is how you included more than just ‘classic’ Asian tourist attractions such as the zillionth Buddhist temple. You instead showed us the dog AND cat cafes. Thanks! Neither are in my guidebook and I never would have known about them if not for your video. Now they are at the top of my list. I can’t wait to visit both.

She says that she’s been getting a lot of stomache issues eating food.So I became concerned about the hygeience of street food, were you guys okay eating street foods? Genuinely curious.
Things to do in Hoi An Vietnam | Top Attractions Travel Guide
(c) Nomadic Samuel – Travel Channel Hoi An is a cultural gem of Vietnam. It’s the type of cultural hub where tourists come to stay for a few days and end up staying for …
I love Hoi An, which is known as the city of lanterns. Personally, I think Hoi An isthe prettiest little town in the world. The scenery, the air, the people, and the food are amazing. The ancient cityis breathtaking by day, but it reallycomes to lifeby nightwhen the streetsare lit up with beautifullanterns. It’s a quiet spectacular and unforgettable sight to see in person.Hoi An is such a magical place! It’s just magic.
It’s nice to see tourists coming into my country to experience our culture. Seeing them enjoying and appreciating our country is great 👍🏼 you guys did a good job with the videos. Keep it up.
Hello Sam,I am a Vietnamese my self. Left the country since i was 14 years old. Came back June 2011 and visited Hoi An for half a day but did not go places like you did in this video. I usually do more research about Hoi An to see what else does it have. This video makes me want to go back and visit Hoi An again. Great video and love the way you two narrating in the video. I love to visit Hoi An with you two in the future.
The drink at the farm had chia seeds in them. In East and South East Asia, it’s often used in drinks and desserts. It’s a little wonder food that has great health benefits. They are tasteless and look like sesame seeds when dry. Once it’s soaked in water, it plums up to look like tiny translucent jelly seeds with a black/ dark grey centre.
Gosh, you guys made me drooling. I love Vietnamese pancake and spring roll too (and skewed sate, at least used to before I became a vegan). I do oftenmakethemat home. Been born in Vietnam, left there nearly 40 yrs ago and never been back but you guys have made me wanting to go. You guys have a good eating spirit which made this clip awesome and fun to watch! Thanks for all the tips.
Your video was so fun to watch and the food all looks delicious!! I’m going to Hoian in December and I will be trying all your recommendations!
I’ve been doing YouTube “research” on Vietnam for an upcoming trip and think this is the best “what to do in Hoi An” video I’ve seen! Great job.
wow, well done guys…I do enjoy your well/thorough presentation – what an experience! and love to live your journey….thanks
Thanks for the great info here. We visited Hoi An in October and so did Typhoon Nari so most of the town was flooded or disrupted. We will use this video for our next visit in April 2014. Happy travelling.
Great video. I was born there and very proud of that we are welcome many lovely friends. Thanks for coming with us.
the most impressive things in Hoi An are lantern and the locals. so amazing
Thank you! We certainly loved staying in Hoi An 🙂
Have just returned from 3 weeks in Cambodia and Vietnam ending in 8 days in Hoi An. Did just about everything on your list. It was great. However I believe the Green Moss Cafe has changed hands and did not really deliver. But once again thanks for the tips.
Love this video! love Hoian. I was working there 4 years.
Hoi An is also one place which I like to visit. Food in Hoi An is so nice.
Thank you! I hope you have a great time in Hoi An and everywhere else you go in Vietnam.
NomadicSamuel, can you tell me more about the SIghtseeing “ticket” that you talk about @ 9:37. Is there a specific place to purchase the tickets. Is there a specific name for them that we can ask about so that we could purchase some. Great video by the way! Very informative, and it really shows how much you enjoyed your time there. We’re planning to visit for the first time this fall.
Sympatický pár . Videá všetky sú pekne spracované.Ďakujem.
Hi there,Just wondering if we need to arrange a meal ahead of time at the organic restaurant at Tra Que Village? Also, any recommendations on lodging in Hoi An? How about spa/massage services? Thanks!
Hi! Thanks for asking. In the past I used to teach English in South Korea to fund all of my travels. These days, I’m working online and doing freelance writing and photojournalism.
