Brutal Bus Trip From Kathmandu to the Himalayas

Brutal Bus Trip From Kathmandu to the Himalayas (c) Gabriel Traveler

(c) Gabriel Traveler It was an epic, intense and really bumpy bus ride going from Kathmandu, Nepal to the little village of Syabrubesi to start my trek in …

I made a 70 minute movie about my incredible trek in the Himalayas of Nepal. You can watch it here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gF1LABvwPHo

I like the transition at 12:22 from the end of the song, into the view of you from below and the fade in to the new sound.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to Gabriel and his subscribers from another guy currently in this fantastic country of NEPAL. Your videos inspire people to travel bro!

Wow Gabriel! That road is no joke, but the view is beautiful! Enjoy the holiday season and all the best in 2020 🤗🤗

Thank you for posting these. It makes me feel more confident I can navigate & trek in Nepal (my first time) in late February. Such excellent vlogging!

Gabe, always remember, never take seats beyond or above the rear wheel of the bus. They have the most uncomfortable ride among all other seats.

Merry Christmas Gabriel from Virginia 🎄🎅🎄🤶🎄 What an epic bus trip! So inspiring and the music you chose to accompany the video was wonderful. Namaste. 🌱🌱🌳🌳

Merry Christmas Gabe, looking good bro. Fantastic Too see another wonderful and Adventurous journey through the Himalayas, great to see you are having a wonderful time, all the very best for 2020!

I’m soooooo pumped for this adventure💪💪💪💪💪. This unfortunately is still on my bucket list because I’m constantly putting other trips where I don’t have to test my ability to holdup at altitude to chance lol. Next year is either Pakistan, Nepal, or something completely opposite like Brazil or the Philippines🤷🏽‍♂️ either way I’m looking forward to seeing Nepal through your lens once again✌🏽

Langtang. Brings back so many memories. This was my first ever trek, and absolutely loved it. I hope you made it to Gosainkunda Lake as well.

This place looks fascinating, its definitely on the bucket list now! Thanks for the inspiration Gabriel!

Gabe always whispered in public transportation. True traveler.

Hope spectacular bus ride enhanced your adventure 😉, Mr Gabriel keep on loving Nepal 🇳🇵

You Guys are better than our Government. Travel vloggers like you are showing the whole world about our country but our Government is doing nothing and Visit Nepal 2020 is now about to begin. Thanks for coming to Nepal and always try to show the real facts and don’t forget to mention the bad things so that we can improve from our side. Thanks Sir!

Hello!loving the videos, very inspiring! One question, was it difficult to get the permits beforehand to be able to trek solo?!Cheers!

I enjoy your amazing videos so very much. Cancer may have me down and out for now, but I plan on beating it and getting back to traveling as soon as possible.

Wow Gabriel! 😳 good thing you got there safe! Have a safe trek, can’t wait to see more of Nepal ❤🙏 thank you.

the last few weeks of videos make me glad I live in the US. and I often wish I could leave and get very depressed researching the near impossible standards I must meet for immigration to virtually anywhere but mexico. Seeing these places, these people scratching out a meager life in hardship reminds me in a big way how good life is here. We dont need to Make America Great Again, compared to these places, we are already greater than we realize. as always, thanks for the real world tour Gabe. it has more of an effect on some of us than you know.

Awesome Gabe. Love it. What a meditation… that bus ride. I found your channel when you were trekking somewhere near here before. What a journey, Gabe. Much love, brother.

No one films the real experience of travel as good as you. Great video thanks

SIX WEEKS IN INDIA: An Incredible Journey

SIX WEEKS IN INDIA: An Incredible Journey (c) Gabriel Traveler

(c) Gabriel Traveler My amazing six-week adventure in south India. Visit Gabriel’s Amazon e-store for cool travel gear: …

This is the website I use the most for booking accommodation while I travel. Huge selection and you can find some great deals on hotels, apartments and hostels: https://www.booking.com/index.html?aid=1724899

Legend Gabriel, I love how you interpret and perceive India, really comes through in your India videos. Cheers mate!

I like how your experiences are authentic. I’m pretty sure I have been to a couple of spots featured in this video, but always thought it was boring.

Wow, great video Gabriel. Really enjoyed it. The multitude of people in India stands out, as does the pollution, this is what awaits the rest of the world with Liberal governments and uncontrolled migration. I,m afraid the world is truly doomed. Great video though , a real eye opener.

One hell of a video travel show, 48 minutes of camera work! Kudo’s to your work and time spent, you deserve a big thumbs up ! 👍👍👍👍👍

Awesome video, Gabriel! Really enjoyed it. Would love to go to India someday. Thanks for the real experience on your videos!

I think this video was your best work by far and you look right at home especially on the Indian buses. I have never been there but feel a strong belonging to the country.

Your channel is growing SOOOO fast! Ive been here since 10k or so! Havent been able to watch that much lately, with school and stuff, but might catch up some videos from you. Keep doing what you do and youll go far Gabe! 🙂

Thanks for sharing, we film gopro walks mainly in soulful cities in Europe, but it’s great to have you guiding us through a place we haven’t been to for many years. Thank you, I enjoyed traveling around with you in the mad wonderfulness of India.

You are such a cool person! Loving your lifestyle and videos, Peace 🙂

I loved hearing the locals talk. Good vibesss! Can’t wait to visit India.

Great video Gabriel…I will be off to Goa in 30 days for my 24th visit….great place and lovely people…keep up the great work.

A Tour of Rishikesh, India, a Slum & the Ganges River

A Tour of Rishikesh, India, a Slum & the Ganges River (c) Gabriel Traveler

(c) Gabriel Traveler Exploring the holy town of Rishikesh, India on the Ganges (Ganga) River. To watch my other video about how expensive is …

Dear Gabriel let me first thank you for showcasing India to The Western world. You are doing this in a good manner and I am happy that you did not show any disrespect to the less decent things. You have a good knowledge about India and Rishikesh in particular. This video blog of yours reminds me of a Japanese TV show named “somewhere Street”. I have been to Rishikesh several times but these Street Views I never had a chance to have. This is your second video I have been watching. the first one was how expensive is Rishikesh. I suggest you watch some episodes of somewhere Street on YouTube and it will help you create more better videos. Please keep posting your beautiful videos as many like me would be waiting for them.

Gabriel I love your videos. You show the true essence of the people , towns and cultures of the countries you visit. Not just all the touristy places.

It’s fantastic to see people’s reactions when you go somewhere that isn’t often frequented by tourists!

15:15 exactly where I had a bathe in the Ganga for the first time 🙂 Thanks for all the great India videos Gabriel, really connects me back there.

Gabe is probably the last youtube traveler who uses his senses and asking people around rather than finds a way with smartphone. And it’s super cool

Watching you travel in India never gets old lol

10:10.. I see.. You have learned to cross the roads the “Indians” way..🙌That is exactly how we do.. Nailed it.. 😃

Very nice inspiring videos . A good sorce of information for travellers. Its amazing to see the amount of energy you have for travelling and exploring new places and also cary a camera filming the entire trip with a live commentary. Really really amazing.

It’s fun to see my own town through someone else’s eyes 😅

Excellent videos, from years past to now. Always give athumbs up evenbeforewatching because I know it’s going to be great. I love walking through those towns with you.Thank you Mr. Morris

Loved it! really loved the way the river looked at the end during the boat trip

Love that this video is educational. The painting at 12:00 is amazing, and that was a nice man you met along your journey before you got lost in the maze. 😊

Amazing spots gabriel👍.. i’ve been in india in 2010…you give a lot of informesions to everyone of us…keep on my friend. ♥️from thessaloniki greece.exept amazon from wich page i can buy your books?

Nice video, I been to 4 Himalayan temples. Beautiful place must go there in May first week. For Yamunotri and kedarnath u can hire horse or go by foot. Gangotri and badrinath direct bus.

Dude, I was in Rishikesh for one month doing a Yoga course and I didn’t even realize that there is actually a real town called Rishikesh away from where all the tourists stay. So, a big thank you! However, please let me give you one seriously good advice. Never use your left hand to point, touch (“Jesus”), accept food, money or anything else except to wash your butt with water. It never ceases to amaze me how many times I see foreigners in Asia use their left hand. Yes, I know some locals do also but that’s usually a sign of their disrespect of the person they’re dealing with.

It’s Monday here, Canadian Thanksgiving, but a subdued one because it’s 2020. These TRANSPORTATIVE videos have special value at present. So much better to watch Gabriel than listen to the morning news. (Tim Ferris is so right about media fasts). In a contest between cyclical broadcasting of perpetual anxieties and issues or a street level Utube Travel Video humbly presented, there is no contest.

Namaste🙏Great Videos Gabriel…keep moving with ur adventures.

Good one, Gabe – my favorite part was when you got lost, and the music came on…:-)……in these situations, ask for the nearest landmark, in this case – The Ganga river – also, when you showed the picture and the place from 7 years ago – nothing changed! – if the old guy had still been there, heck – this is India right? – and again, it never ceases to amaze me the amount of loose animals in traffic……if that was in the west, even for a single wayward mule, the national guard would be brought in and it would make breaking news…..:-)…..in India, seems like there is room fore everyone……it’s like Noahs Ark…:-)

Was in Rishikesh for a week. Love this place. Have you seen the nilkanth temple it’s 20 km away from Rishikesh ?

The UN should make you an ambassador of tourism. You leave a trail of class, humbleness and honesty wherever you go. It’s prevalent here when you decided not to expose the “slums” for what they are for our benefit. We can feel the sorrow that you do in these situations. Once again you’re an exceptional person and we are lucky to have and learn by you.

How Expensive is HELSINKI, FINLAND? Exploring the City

How Expensive is HELSINKI, FINLAND? Exploring the City (c) Gabriel Traveler

(c) Gabriel Traveler In this video I explore Helsinki, the capital of Finland and show how much things cost. NEED GEAR FOR YOUR TRAVELS?

The hostel I showed in the video is the Hostel Diana Park. I recommend reserving it online using this website: https://www.booking.com/index.html?aid=1724899 Or you can use that site to search for other hotels, apartments, hostels, etc.

I’m native finnish and I have never visited those restaurants showed in the video in Helsinki because they’re so expensive. Finnish seldom visit those expensive restaurants, we know our way around Helsinki and where the good, a little bit cheaper places are. If you’re visiting Helsinki, look for a restaurants that are not in Esplanadi or Aleksanterinkatu (restaurants in those streets are expensive). Or if you have courage to approach a local, ask recommendations for a good restaurant (if you’re staying in a hostel, ask from the receptionist for example). Also, if you’re in Helsinki in “Syö viikot” event, you’re lucky: those big 10€ signs at restaurant windows or menus means that they have couple meal options that costs only 10€, even more expensive restaurant take part in that.

Finland and Helsinki get significantly more reasonable if you live here (permanently). There are many things that are considerably cheaper than other ‘cheaper’ European countries that you won’t encounter until you live here. For example, district heating and heated water, which are produced from the excess heat of power stations and ‘piped’ into apartment blocks. This is a lot cheaper and included in electric bills. Permanent residents also get cheaper travel cards (the train trip from the airport costs €4.20 for a local with a travel card – 80 mins unlimited travel in 3 city regions). If you live here, you also know where to go shopping and where to avoid (e.g. the difference between visiting the tourist-geared Old Market Hall near the Market Square and the local-geared Hakieniemi Market Hall). Lol, and not going to centrally-located expensive restaurants (in Helsinki terms), and places in the tourist Market Square when staying in hostels. Decent tourist guide books will tell you this! Oh, and there is free wifi EVERYWHERE, even the airport. Yes, many things are more expensive, but pay is proportionally higher, and the higher taxes are used very well compared to non-Nordic countries.

As a Finn, I do agree with you that Central Helsinki, where you were, is an expensive area, but if you go anywhere else in Finland you’ll find it a lot cheaper. Even if you visit Espoo or Vantaa just next to Helsinski.

“Helsingin” doesn’t mean “Helsinki” in Finnish 🙂 “Helsingin” is the genitive case of the word “Helsinki”. So “Helsingin tuomiokirkko” means “Helsinki’s Cathedral”.

I Love Finland!!! One of the most beautiful countries, my personal favourite ! Thanks for the videos, Gabriel. Always very helpful!

You only went through the most expensive streets in Helsinki. Prices can be halved out that.

If anyone is confused that why is it so expensive in Helsinki, no that is not the case.He walked around the expensive areas of Helsinki, mostly at the harbour and around the cathedral.

It is really nice to see videos from foreingners about Finland and especially Helsinki. I’m living in capital area and there is also way more cheaper places also in Helsinki if you travel little bit away from city centre 🙂 I hope you had nice trip in Helsinki, Finland!

Seems pretty comparable to prices here in Canada, especially in the touristy area of a major city.

Hi Gabriel, I know you got to be glad your heading home all that traveling must have tired out a bit you’ll get a chance to relax and unwind. I couldn’t believe you stood out there in that cold weather with hardly anything on amazing. Those prices remind me of NY City prices.

Gabriel. Thank you for the work and research you’ve made for travellers 🙂

I was really confused why those prices were so high.I am from Finland, I live in a town near helsinki but its wayy cheaper

Great video Gabriel. You have talent to give people the real experience. Next time, I strongly suggest you take a trip to Finnish Lapland. Some amazing scenes and pure nature there. Easy to fly there from Helsinki Airport.

Do keep in mind Helsinki has higher cost of living than pretty much most other cities in Finland, almost a separate entity from the rest of the country.

There are many quality lunch options as well. Usually the prices are around 10 euros. Worth mentioning is that Finnish lunch is a proper meal so you don’t necessarily have to have a dinner later in the evening.

Glad you’re doing all your heavy traveling around the world now, Gabriel..’cause when you get a lot older, you’ll be running to find restrooms way more frequently than now…trust me on that! Keep up the great work and when you’re back in NYC USA, let me know..i’ll show you around town like a pro. Joel

I Have thoroughly enjoyed watching your travel videos from the beginning Gabriel, and i must say that they are the business! Fantastic Travels through Amazing countries. May I suggest the next time you are in Europe that you try Haarlem And Amsterdam again, another two wonderful city’s in Europe. Look Forward to seeing new videos from you again Gabriel, take it easy, peace!

Eating outside is usually very expensive in Finland, especially in Helsinki and those fancy restaurants you visited.

I really love your videos! Keep up the good work!
