Damn, the devs didn’t leave any bugs or glitches in this game.

*“in this house we follow the laws of thermodynamics!”*

Law #1: You can’t get out more energy than you put inLaw #2: *No*

“He chose the path of perpetual torment”

Why don’t we just get rid of these laws of thermodynamics, seems like a simple solution.

I accidently created a perpetual motion engine by arguing with my girlfriend. It literally never stops now.

*Law #1:* “Perfectly balanced – as all things should be.”*Law #2:* “The ruinous powers of Chaos.”

I always pictured Perpetual motion machines as God checking his first draft and then sayingOoooh yeah gotta patch this one, that could get crazy lol

physicists just had to ruin everything for everyone else. first they invent gravity and ground us, now we can’t even make cool infinite spinny machine

“The only perpetual thing is our never-ending search”So the perpetual motion machine… was inside us all along?

I remember trying to conceive of a perpetual motion machine as a kid, before I knew what it was called. Didn’t take long to realize it was physically impossible.

I was waiting for the third law to be: “Perpetual motion machines won’t work. They’re lame and we say no.”

Youtube : you want to learn some physics at 3am to avoid depression? Me: say no more

it would be more interesing to see what we can build “nearly perpetual”, with a very very little energie input from an external source

Humans: *gets idea that sounds reasonable and easy to make*Physics: lol no

Every plan looks good on paper. Until you realize everything you’re forgetting to put in like friction, air resistance, etc

Even though perpetual motion machines are (or at least, from our current understanding of thermodynamics, seem) impossible, some of the ideas suggested in the search for it could be interesting systems that can help us recapture some of the energy we put into a system so less is ‘lost’ to things that serve us no purpose.

If we can turn rage into energy twitter would be a nuclear reactor

this is when Breaking the Law is a really good thing!!!

Me after drinking a glass of water: Fitness isn’t just a hobby it’s lifestyle

I’m pretty sure my 6th grade social studies teacher never drank water. he would always drink like 5-7 bottles of Mountain Dew and I never saw him drink water. He was definitely one of my favorite teachers, as he was very chill and was never mean or annoying.

Me: barley drinks waterBrain: It’s not just a rash, it’s a warning

I just learned more than I did in this 5 minutes than 8 hours at school😂

Well that’s me trying to keep up to date with my water intake after watching this video even though after 3 days from now I probably just drink less again..

Water= main character Tea= shy, down-to-earth cousin Soda= sweet yet toxic ex-bf/gfCoffee= serious parental figureAlcohol= obnoxious, clumsy uncleEnergy drink= demonic little brotherWine= sophisticated aunt/grandmaFruit juice= ride-or-die friendVinegar= ex-convict(The next two additions are my favorite replies that deserve just as much recognition <3)Milk= impressionable toddlerPee= Shane Dawson

I just remember one day on highschool realizing that I enjoy the taste of water and that most of the time that I think I’m hungry I’m really just thirsty. And I’m glad I did.

I tried to do dry fasting before because I believed it was “healthy” but now I got permanent organ damage ;( now I drink water

Me When Im Soo Thirsty While Playing: **I Feel INVINCIBLE!**literally thats me i dont feel pain or even get hurt just my body is like a balloon

Im a mom of a toddler so i found out what happens when you run on coffee alone for like a week or more…you feel like death! I drank about 160oz of coffee a day and nothing else. Well i got super sick. I was dehydrated, vomitting all day for days and you lose potassium. I was getting sick every 2 months until i figured out it was all the coffee and having drank no water at all. Lesson NOW learned. Drink water!

Teacher : why do we drink waterMe : Because we can’t eat it

After watching this video,I’m in love with water.I’m gonna drink it at regular intervals to make myself active and energetic. Btw,thank you so much for this video that motivates others to adopt a healthy lifestyle to live a healthy life.

I was suffering from moderate-severe chronic fatigue and had a lot of Drs appointments over 7 years trying to figure out why. Things got scary when I started having chest pains. I spent a year stuck in bed unable to move. Everything was a struggle, even simple things as brushing my teeth was a workout. No Dr could figure it out until I saw an NP for a completely unrelated issue. After she treated my problem and dismissed me, I accidentally bumped into her again in the hallway and she then casually remembered something that came up in my labs and said, “Oh, and by the way, you’re dehydrated, so drink up. I’ll see you on our follow up.” And I was like: “Oh. Ok.” I went home thinking I hadn’t realized that I no longer got thirsty anymore and I barely got in two glasses of water in a day. I made a plan to start drinking more not thinking much about it. As of 1 month of drinking 10 glasses a day, a lot of my fatigue has been lifting for the first time in 7 years. The chest pains was evidence that my cells were on their last straw and my body was shutting down. I came close to dying of dehydration.

I think it’s worth mentioning that older people tend to feel less thirsty and need to drink more water. Hence they should pay more attention to how much they drink than whether they feel thirsty or not.

I haven’t had a glass of water in probably 6 years…most of my liquid comes from other Canada Dry gingerale or coffee so that being said does this make me unhealthy? Look forward to seeing your comment…and this is the honest truth! Cheers, Jerbs

WATER IS THE BEST DRINK IN THE WORLD,IT TASTES BEST WHEN YOU ARE THIRSTY!!!

I used to drink like one cup of water every week, now I’m starting to drink between 7-10 cups a day and my body already feels very different

Him: “ You even lose water when you breath”, Me: takes deep breath to stop breathing

All my teenage I’ve had hard time listening to almost everyone telling me to drink more water to stop my acne and I finally made it into an habit Lol it did nothing tbh but it feels good. If I dont drink water for and hour straight my mouth and nose feel so dry.

Can you solve the famously difficult green-eyed logic puzzle? – Alex Gendler

Can you solve the famously difficult green-eyed logic puzzle? - Alex Gendler (c) TED-Ed

(c) TED-Ed Sign up for our newsletter and never miss an animation: http://bit.ly/TEDEdNewsletter One hundred green-eyed logicians have been imprisoned on an island by …

imagine being a perfect logician while not realizing that 100 people can take 1 person easily

Honestly, if everyone around me had green eyes I wouldn’t even think of the fact that another eye color could exist.Edit: I’m going to stop responding to comments now, you all bring up valid points, but this wasn’t meant to be a super well thought out comment lol

Why’d he raise them all to be perfect logicians…

Step 1: Confirm you have green eyesStep 2: Realize this is the green-eyes riddle

“At least ten of you have green eyes” is equally as non suspicious but saves a ton of time.

Dictator: “All water is in opaque containers.”Me: “This is an island…”

Green eyed people: *exist*Mad dictator: *and I took that personally*

Question: would the sentence “everyone next to you has green eyes” be allowed? To each individual person, this is not new information. As a group, they would realize that if this is true for everyone, they also have green eyes.

I’m just imagining a group of 100 people simultaneously asking a guard to leave the island and then all 100 packing themselves into 1 helicopter.

Imagine Adria didn’t have green eyes and Bill just wanted to watch the world burn.

“Kill those ones who don’t have green eyes”.Best case scenario: Nobody does it, everybody leaves.Worst case scenario: They kill me and the dictator for not having green eyes.

I would tell them “every prisoner you know has green eyes”They could leave immediately, knowing that as a blanket statement, this would be true for everyone, implying they too have green eyes

This has been turned into a meme in almost every single Ted-Ed comment section lmaoEdit: wow after six months of dead comment this somehow pops back and gets 1k likes lmao

“all water is in opaque containers”have you tried pouring the water?

Dictator: What is your statement?Me: THE DICTATOR HAS REFLECTIVE SUNGLASSES

Ted-Ed: *thinks logically and creatively to make their riddles and the stories behind them*Ted-Ed commenters: haha green-eye meme go brrr

I would have just said “In my eyes everyone is equal”

Why did the prisoners need to be told “at least one of you has green eyes”? Couldn’t they have figured that out by themselves, being around 99 other green eyed prisoners, and then escaped? What is changed by telling them what they already know?

“if 2 people have green eyes…””yes OK, I understand””when 99 people have green eyes…””wait, what? how?”

Meh, if I saw 99 other kids with green eyes Id also assume I have green eyes

“Sugar acts a little bit like a drug” “A cake once in a while won’t hurt you”

*The best reward is to feel healthy! Presentation conclusion: Consume less sugar, please.* 🙏

Trust me sugar addiction is real…i somehow feel like it’s my responsibility to finish all the sweets that are lying around in my house.

the animation is just GORGEOUS

Brain is the most powerful organ in the body.-said brain

I gave up eating anything with processed sugar 15 years ago. That means no cookies, no cakes, no soft drinks or smoothies. The only sweet things I eat are fruits and I feel very active. It takes discipline but you get used to it.

Every comment I see says “The Brain is the most powerful organ in the body. -Said the Brain”-Said the Brain

The brain is the only organ that named itself and it was surprised to realize that

I had an ED and sugar was always a trigger – I stopped eating sugar 2 years ago ( stopped desserts and I limit as much as possible added sugar) for medical reasons because they also can trigger my mood swings, and I never, ever get sugar cravings, it’s an awesome feeling to look at cake and be like “meh, i genuinely don’t want that”. It benefits the body in so many ways and a bonus is that I’ve naturally stayed lean!

As a new pastry chef I can clearly see the effects of sugar on my brain since I entered sweet industry. I want to consume sugar regularly and when I dont have something sweet for a longer period of time I feel hungry and restless. It’s hard af to concentrate on things like studying. So bad.

“Drugs like alcohol” I love that you said that. People still think it’s not dangerous, while it’s a drug the same as others.

The animation makes this video all the more interesting and captivating. Great job, Ted-Ed!

Honestly you’re better off avoiding processed sugar as much as possible. Since it’s in everything you buy from the store the wedge of cake isn’t the only thing you have to worry about.

Thanks for the great animation! Really represent how sugar affects our brain and how sugar makes us excited and colorful! Good job!

Cutting sugar out of my eating is the best decision I’ve made so far. Better health, better skin, better breath( I have asthma attack), better mood and I eventually grew taller faster.

I knew sugar was like a drug for some people but didn’t know th reasons. This is so well-explained. It’s gonna help me to explain the addictive mechanisms.

“But too much of this causes a series of unfortunate events”My mind: Look away, look away! This show can wreck your evening, your whole life or your day! Every single episode is nothing but dismay!

Me: Put 2.5 spoons of sugar into tea.Me: Watch the video.Me: Put 2.49 spoons of sugar into tea.

There was a point in my life where I stopped craving sweets, especially these processed ultra sweet foods.I don’t know what happened but kind of I’m glad it happaned.

I am watching this because I have noticed a significant decline in my memory, short term specifically, and losing concentration and focus. I forget small things, easily lose my track of mind, and forget what i’m talking about often. It has gotten to the point that it hurts my head to think because I know the information, I just can’t remember and it scares me. I know I am addicted to sugar and I have my whole life. I do not eat many fruits or veggies or take vitamins either. It is hard because I don’t gain weight and have always been fit, so I assumed I never needed to change the way I eat because I never had an issue, but the real issue is inside and not on the outside. I am also so tired all the time and I have a hard time finishing tasks, thinking with my Dr I may have ADHD. But when the medication isn’t “working” my concerns go elsewhere. This video was very informational. I have always been very creative and intelligent, but I am clearly noticing a decline as I get older. Any easy ways to begin shifting my diet would be appreciated.

I feel bad for that one kid who broke his glasses 3 times and got hit in the face with a soccer ball twice in about 30 seconds

“No single adhesive works well in all conditions”Flex glue: no

When i was a kid i thought tape was paper with glue on the bottom

Just loved the way you told the concept of adhesives and cohesives via animations 1:05.

1:00 This is the cutest explanation of cohesion and adhesion ever

Depends. Does Flex tape count? Because it can repair and boat that has been sawed in half.

At the the end I really liked the pun “Stick with us”

3:56 that one smiling bowling ball is so cute

I think the best way to find the strong cohesive substances was to gain a amorphous liquid like gossamer re engineer with properties cohesive bonds, and because of the sheer strength that gossamer have for being able to hold birds more than 4 times greater than the spider this substance could possibly be able to bind anything.

I can’t wait to tell my friends that TECHNICALLY glue isn’t STICKY… and doesn’t actually have any glue in it

The strongest glue and tape isFlex tape and Flex glue

You made a video of glue and tape look so intriguing and amusing. How do you do that?! You guys are amazing!

This is one of the best video I have ever seen the graphical representation is so cool and way the presented the story is really remarkable.

It depends. If you need to seal a crack, use glue.If you just need to put two things together, tape is happy to help.

This is beautiful, entertaining and educational at the same time

Art teacher: You need glue to make this collageFriend: I don’t have glueArt teacher: Use tapeFriend: I don’t have tapeTeacher: Use rice and mix it with waterThe whole class: 😦

Depends how you are able to apply it. A single piece of tape is often beaten by some glue but many layers of tape wrapped around an object can be very very strong.

1:06 thats exactly how I imagined the glue molecules to bond with other surfaces, when I was 5 years old
