INSIDE SOMALIA (Not what I expected)

INSIDE SOMALIA (Not what I expected) (c) Indigo Traveller

(c) Indigo Traveller So I decided to go on a trip to Somalia.. -My Instagram for photos of Somalia: http://indigotraveller.space/Instagram -My Venezuela …

*Welcome to Somaliland, a country inside Somalia that is unrecognised internationally.* Hope you will enjoy this new series of this country straddling the Horn of Africa! Keep up to date with my fresh photos from this fascinating land here: https://www.instagram.com/indigo.traveller/

Every Somali person I’ve met have been wonderful – respect to Somalia from Ireland 🇸🇴🇮🇪

Somalis are good people, I am not Somali but I studied with them more than 5 years, they are decent people and if you live in them, they’re happy and loyal to you. Big up to u all brothers and sisters Somalis.👌

Respect to Somalia from Brazil🇸🇴🇧🇷

I lived in Somaliland for 10 years, best years in my entire life, loved every second of it ❤️❤️❤️

My Somali 🇸🇴 people are so friendly everywhere i wish peaceful ✌inshaallah one day will be okay from Eritrea 🇪🇷

Love Somalia and Somali people from India. 🇮🇳💓🇸🇴.

Somalia is a place I would love to visit from a Yemenie Salam Peace to all my Somali brothers and sisters

The guide is brilliant, what a great personality 😊👍

Worked for a company in Minneapolis that hired a lot of Somalis. Some from Somaliland, some from the South. I got to know quite a few of them, really nice people, always wanting to small talk about everything and always asking questions to keep a conversation going. Almost all of them wanted to distance themselves so much from the violence that they didn’t much like to talk about the differences between Somaliland and Somalia because it was pretty contentious for some of the more hotheaded youths and the much older folks there. Most the adults my age (30s) were just tired of the drama and violence and wanted a home and felt like they couldn’t go back even if they had the option it was kinda sad. Super duper friendly. Wish i learned more of the language. Cant spell it but… Mahatsani (thank you i think?) for the video!Edit: Mahadsanid** (Thank you) to most of you commenters for your kind words and spell correcting…

Somalis are wonderful pple caring and loving people Proud to be Somalian girlThanks for you for trying to prove that Somali pple are not bad pple thanks alot

I have studied 6 years with somali people in the same class and they are great people and very friendly. And this country is beautiful and has so much potential as i can see from this video! I wish peace and prosperous to somaliya!

Thanks for visiting our country and saying good stuff about it ❤❣ much love from somaliland,Hargisa 💚💭❤

I love Somalians so much. I hope that we can take in all of them in our comfortable western countries and definitely improve our own homes. <3 Look at how their country is doing overall. That’s how I want the U.S. to be. God bless.

I am happy that you proved the world wrong about Somalia much love from south sudan 🇸🇸🇸🇸🇸🇸🇸🇸🇸🇸🇸🇸🇸🇸

You can see with your own eyes what is in front of you, but in your mind you can see everything. Somalia is the same people, who love each other😍😍. Somaliland is our heart. ❤This is the first time the Somali flag has been set up in Hargeisa. 🇸🇴 🇸🇴🇸🇴just singing politics for our people is one heart. Somalia is the lion of Africa.🇸🇴🇸🇴

I love this channel, makes me want to travel so much, love from The Bronx NYC 🇵🇷🇺🇸

Lol, these streets are so familiar. My mom homeland and capital of Somaliland. And yes camera and any recordings are not looked on positively. However of you ask them for permission, most will accept it.Lovely overview of this peaceful region of Somali territories.

I must say, I adore what you are doing. The music, shots, editing and everything is else is so simple and noble. I just wanted to ask you one question: how you choose your destinations? do you google their security status? or is it like you just close your eyes and pin a point on the map?

Somali people are so friendly & very humble i really want to visit one day love from Eritrea ❤💙

BANGLADESH IS INCREDIBLE | Exploring Dhaka

BANGLADESH IS INCREDIBLE | Exploring Dhaka (c) Indigo Traveller

(c) Indigo Traveller VLOG #148. Let me know your thoughts in the comments section PATREON: https://www.patreon.com/indigotraveller or if you …

Hope you enjoyed this video guys, I sure did! Video upload times will be a bit sporadic for the rest of the time i’m in Bangladesh due to poor internet connections in remote areas. But trust me when I say, there is some epic content on it’s way so stay tuned! Thank you for watching as always, appreciate ya! Nick ✌❤🙏

I went to Dhaka and Pabna for 2 weeks last year for work, such an incredible country! Very confronting for an Aussie, but amazing. Friendly people and delicious food. And yep, the traffic really is that bad!

Love your Bangladesh videos 🇧🇩 I’m from England and went to Bangladesh in the summer, absolutely loved it. You should definitely try visiting Sylhet and Jaflong near the Indian border. The scenery there is absolutely stunning.

I lived in Dhaka for 8yrs. Growing up in the northern part of Bangladesh, I always wanted to get rid of this crazy city. Now here I am, living abroad for one year and can’t wait to go back to this madness. I miss the buzz, I miss meeting known faces unexpectedly. I have seen all your Dhaka videos and I am so nostalgic that I don’t think this comment section is enough for stating everything. Anyway, I love how you are up for anything interesting and crazy.

Fantastic way of presenting – I am a Bangladeshi (now working in Manila); am so glad to see Dhaka and all the known places. I like the way it was presented.

The time lapse of that busy River was amazing. It’s like an art how those little boats are crossing each other along with big boats! Brilliantly done.

Insane traffic, even on the river I have never seen anything like that in my life, you are really patient. That food looked delicious, the people are so nice, great video.

The entire city needs cleaning and to actually have people to obey traffic laws if there was any..

Love the chaos Nick, cant wait for Chittagong, fascinating coastal city and boat boneyard capital of the world. I`m off to Tirana in three days (inspired by your recent visit) But I will still be watching your amazing Bangladeshi adventures 🙂

Nice video. I have just been in Bangladesh, and had the same experience; all people staring at me, and didn’t see any other foreign people. Dhaka is crazy, but the countryside in the south is beautiful. The Bangla people are very friendly.

Probably my favourite video of your channel yet Nick…! The river scenes are legend mate..! I also like how you make a point to score your videos with local music by artists that are from that country. Your videos showcase countries in a way that would never be seen on telly or in cinema.Definitely makes me want to add Dhaka to my travel list. 😎🚁

Your so brave after stuck in traffic for 2 hours You still have energy to make vlog 😁 appreciate man

Awesome to watch. Thanks. I passed through Dhaka for 2 days on a stopover flight (Bangkok to Kathmandu) in March 1998. UN-FOR-GETTABLE. Took cycle rickshaws all the way into old quarter(s) and river bank: low river season, invited into ‘bamboo cage’ aka home of a man, sang a ‘Asalamalekum’ type song and attracted 100s of curious people starting in….Absolutely overwhelming and unforgettable place and people, you’re right!

Greeting from Malaysia. A real travel, honest and truthful to the core. I love this. Give us more.

There is a lot of love and the support from the rest of the world which has been truly amazing. It has been a struggle for Bangladesh to move forward, it has not been easy. But there has been a lot of progress due to the spirit of the people, there is something special and there is a lot to be optimistic about the future. Thank you for this video as it reveals a lot even to us Bangladeshis and thank you for your love from all around the world. Great shot of the river btw and a great cover photo for you Wix;) – Z Rahman

If you’re going to South, you must visit Shajek Valley, Nilgiri, Nilachol, Damtua Waterfall, Tinap Saitar Waterfalls, Teknaf Marine Drive, Cox’s Bazar. You can look for these places on google, not all of the local people know these places. And reaching some of these places is quite “adventurous”. You know what I mean right? 😛

Hey Nick I have been watching your vlog since Nepal trip and I love your vlogs. Welcome to Bangladesh. I can show you the south side of Dhaka like Lalbagh fort, University of Dhaka, Shahbagh, Ramna park, Baitul Mukarram, National Musiam and many more if you need. Thanks for coming Bangladesh. 🙂

I have to come clean, I’ve been binge watching video after video from you. It’s so amazing to see how different people from across the world live, it is so densely populated and the traffic laws (lack of) is crazy. I also must admit, after watching your videos I am changing my mind on the way I see Muslims. Everyone seemed very friendly, not how the media or other outlets portray them to be. I also watched your Rohinga video this morning, such an eye opener. Thank you.

I found your channel only a few days ago. You are making the world big again for me. And it’s one I thought I knew. I was wrong. Thank you. Safe travels.

After viewing this video, my wife has absolutely no right to even think of saying my garage is messy!!!

DAY 1: Arriving in Libya (beyond expectations)

DAY 1: Arriving in Libya (beyond expectations) (c) Indigo Traveller

(c) Indigo Traveller I have been trying to come to Libya for 2 years, the day has finally arrived. My Instagram: …

It is truly hard for me to believe that I was able to gain access into Libya. A country where tourists don’t exist and the local authorities are understandably extremely paranoid. Hope you are ready for this series, it’s going to be wild. 🇱🇾

Indigo Traveller is truly a legend. Creating videos to show us the inside, instead of the propaganda. The cinematography and music is also fantastic. Thank you for your service. Keep safe… If I see a new post from you “DAY 1: Arriving on the Moon” video I would believe it! There’s no place too extreme it seems.

I visited Libya in April/May 2005 – was a wonderful experience. Such friendly people. I have never felt safer in my life. While it has changed a lot since then I am looking forward to reviving memories of my trip. I celebrated my birthday deep in the Sahara Desert – a unique experience for me.

I love Libya 🇱🇾❤️🇧🇷

Thank you for clearing the true image of our country, and we welcome you and everyone who wants to visit us⁦❤️⁩⁦🇱🇾⁩⁦🇱🇾⁩

I was born in Tripoli, Libya. It was very emotional for me to see the city in which I spent my childhood again after almost 7 years, it made me have such a strong bout of homesickness, had to cry. Thank you for such a video, Indigo Traveller, and for showing the beauty of Libya.

Man, I just love seeing these videos that give us a peek into what a country is actually like outside of what we are told/shown. We really only see/hear the absolute worst about places like Libya, but being able to see videos like this show that those situations are far from the entire truth about places like this.

Once a very rich country where no one had to think about a secure future until the Clinton clan intervened, just like in the former Yugoslavia. All the best to the people of Libya from Belgrade, Serbia

Libyans are one of the friendliest people I’ve met..I’ve miss those ruins in Sabratha…much love from the philippines…

I’ve now watched your North Korea, your Aghanistan, your Iran and now your Libyan videos. It’s impossible to describe how much you’ve taught me about these countries, and how many preconceptions have been shattered. Thank you so much. When Covid becomes (I hope) a memory, I’m going to visit some of these places.

I was born and raised in Tripoli, Libya. Long live libya ! 🇱🇾

So incredible, thanks for sharing these stories!

I love Libya, the hospitality, food, weather. Everything is wonderful 💛

Hillary: “We saved a lot of libyan lives”Libyan: “so that was a fucking lie”

أصلي دائما من أجل ليبيا من أعماق قلبي. اللهم ساعد أهل ليبيا. حب من السعودية❤

I had the pressure of visiting Tripoli from Canada. I was welcomed to work at a in town music studio. It was put/built together by a local group who helped youth record and express themselves. I recorded a record well there, with a producer BIG SENO and Erbie. Amazing HIPHOP! I really feel what you are doing is great. Stepping into an environment with the unknown is something to remember. Stay great mate!

So inspired by you, man! Keep up the amazing work!!!

My thoughts are with the people of Libya. Another country destabilised and destroyed by the US. My father used to go to Tripoli often in the 90s and he tells me life was good and modern for those times.

Big love and respect from Libya and I hope someday getting in Libya will be available for everyone 🇱🇾💚

Amazing insights – looking forward to seeing how this journey pans out.

Great job of staying neutral! Im British but have been living and working in Caracas for the past 4 years now, I run out of words explaining (trying) to my friends and family back home what life is like here……..You have saved me the effort with these videos. Keep up the good work!

I was born in Venezuela, but haven’t seen it since 1995 I was still a child and never been back. I am so happy you’re making these videos because it opens a window into the reality of what the country looks like and what is happening. The media manipulates so much that is hard to trust what is really going on. It’s so heartbreaking to see what the country has turned into with this socialist/communist regime – seems like they did accomplish the promised equality: Almost EVERYONE IS EQUALLY POOR such a massive shame. Thank you for giving visibility to the reality and stay safe. God bless you.

I hope no one feels what it’s like to leave your grandmother behind, your dog, your family, your friends and your school, the saddest thing I left without knowing, if my grandmother was going to eat well. I went to another country to work I am 16 years old and I had to start working tirelessly in a restaurant. I’m just begging God to fix Venezuela and be able to hug my grandmother again.

Bad times won’t last forever. Venezuela will overcome this sad situation one day, I believe.

I’m Venezuelan and seeing my country again makes me cry,Thank you for making these videos.

I’m Venezuelan and I haven’t been back to my country in 8 years… this was in my recommended this morning and watching this video broke my heart honestly because i miss my home and wish i could go back to see my family… I’ve lost a lot of family members and never got to say goodbye… i miss the beautiful country it used to be

I was born in Venezuela and spent my childhood there. When I was 14 me and my family left. That’s now 6 years ago and it breaks my heart to see my country in ruins. We had the privilege to go to europe and to have a decent life but seeing so many of my brothers and sisters living in these inhuman situations while some dirty bast*rds profit from this corrupt and evil system makes me sick.

I just “discovered” you on YouTube. I’m trying to work my way through your travels in the order that you traveled. I noted in your disclaimer of your North Korea videos that you are not a journalist. I must disagree. What you’re doing is real journalism. You report what you see. You report how the people are living, what their days are like, what they eat, how they interact and survive. You show their countries’ good points and bad with little or no social commentary. All of this, and more, is real journalism, and you do it very, very well. And, in my opinion, your reportage and commentary is excellent. You are a natural at this. You maintain interest in your subject without the use of controversy or opinion. I have no idea what you may want to pursue as a life’s work, but you would certainly excel at pure journalism.Good luck in your future adventures.

The BIG catch up starts! Lol I’m further behind than I thought but I do love to watch a full adventure so this works! All I can say is I wish more travel Youtubers provided the same epic amount of value in their content as you do- you are league above most of them! 😍💪

I always appreciate your sincere effort to remain neutral and respectful in all the countries you visit no matter the national and international conflicts/frictions.

You are brave for going in there and try to live a “normal” day out. I couldn’t even go out my house because i was terrified to not to come back . Thanks for what you do, thanks for showing the 2 sides of the same coin.

I’m venezuelan I left my country almost 3 years ago. I recently found these videos and I can show them to my friends. I hope that my country could be free again I will be the first on return with my people . Thanks for this amazing material and also thanks to Lenny . Regards from Buenos Aires.

Honestly, I have nothing to say but, you did an awesome job showing my country. Thanks for putting this out there! Thanks goddess nothing bad happened to you. You just earned a subscriber! 🔥☺️

Just found your channel today and I’m really enjoying it. I’ve been viewing your videos both new and old and am super impressed on how far you’ve come in just 2 years ( in quality, content, and overall channel growth). I appreciate the authenticity of your experiences and showing the good and bad of places whereas I find other travel vloggers “hyper-glamorize” their experiences solely to obtain more subscribers. I aim for a similar lifestyle very soon and will be looking toward your videos as one source for advice and tips when preparing to make the leap. Thanks for the inspiration

I’ve watched all the videos of you visiting my country til now, and I love how real they are, and how you get interested in actually exploring all the way, and fearlessly getting to know everything from the inside, you are truly an adventurer. Also, something that differences you from other youtubers I’ve seen who have visited my country, is that you will actually be showing something out of Caracas, something that others haven’t dared trying yet. Because really, Caracas is a completely different country compared to other states in here, thank you for being truly interested in showing the reality of what we’re living, and showing not only the bad, but also the beauty my country still has.Love, a venezuelan

You’ve done a great job of showing (what one should expect traveling to Caracas – Venezuela). Of course the day to day living/surviving is very different then the tourist life, however, other videos i’ve seen are very often one sided where they showed the immense poverty or try to show the Elite side and make it seems like there’s nothing really going on in our country (which is normally Political propaganda). Lenny was a fantastic guide and i’m amazed he was able to get you into places where even a regular Venezuelan would not dare walk into like “Petare” much less having filming gear and looking like a foreigner. I wonder if for Lenny’s safety he left some details off camera, like who can actually afford the Elite living and what they do to afford the country clubs and or expensive nights out. Great job to you and Lenny. His photography is also great and now i follow you both. Keep it up! hopefully you can go back in a couple years when the government changes and see the Venezuela we once knew and what an Oil rich country is supposed to look like 😉

just started watching these series today and… you visited what used to be my favorite (expensive now ofc) coffee/hangout place! Can’t wait for the day I get to go back to a prosperous amazing country like the one I know Venezuela can be! <3

Your videos are amazing! I visited Egypt and Germany as a kid and haven’t been able to leave the country (United States) for financial reasons since, but your channel has inspired me to branch out and travel. Keep up the great work!

Inside Brazil’s Biggest Slum (life here is unbelievable)

Inside Brazil's Biggest Slum (life here is unbelievable) (c) Indigo Traveller

(c) Indigo Traveller An incredible day exploring Brazil’s biggest Favela. My Instagram for photos of the trip: https://www.instagram.com/indigo.traveller/ …

🔴 *Even though I have been in a few slums before in different areas of the world, this was one of those days that blew my mind.* It was humbling to be able to humanise this often feared neighbourhood if not for you guys watching at home but for myself. I hope you enjoy this video and if you want to contribute to the food and education of the children living here and give them a brighter future, then please consider supporting Barbara’s project here: https://www.ilsorrisodeimieibimbi.org/support-us/?lang=enLike I mentioned in the video, Barbara is one of those people who shines so bright for good, dedicating her entire life to helping others who are less fortunate. Beautiful soul. If you would like to follow the photo version of this incredible trip, feel free to check out my Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/indigo.traveller/Thank you for watching, Brazil is shaping up to be one of my favourites! Thank you to all the Brazilian people for making me feel so welcome in their beautiful country! *Bom Dia & Obrigado!* 🇧🇷

love the content bro. glad to see u back on the road doing ur thing.

“Children can’t study if they are hungry” Those words really hit home just how much Barbara’s help and compassion is needed

Thanks for demystifying the place

Que pas to lindo. Um abrao de Portugal!

I honestly “love” how these foreign folks come to Rio and excitedly and fearlessly enter the favelas to explore it while we, folks from Rio ourselves, are scared like hell to even get close to it. 😂

I’m Brazilian living in NY and there are so many Brazilians that talks down Brazil to other people here. Thank you for showing how amazing our people are and how beautiful our country is. Are you going to the north-east part of the country?

When I was in Rio I entered two favelas. The first one with a Brazilian friend to hike up ‘Dois Irmões’. It was super chill, we took a mototaxi up the hill through the favela. The second one I entered alone, thinking that I already know how it works. This time I also wanted to hike up the hill the favela was built on. In retrospective this obviously wasn’t such a good idea. Even the locals, e.g. my mototaxi driver asked me wth am I doing here. He didn’t even know were I wanted to go lol. Nevertheless, he took me up the hill. Were I got off there was a women who my driver asked something. The women too didn’t know the path I was looking for to hike up either. And she also told me that I am crazy entering the favela alone, it’s dangerous. But, instead of telling me to immediately leave the favela she even showed me around a little bit and I enjoyed beautiful views of Rio. So, all in all it probably was not the best idea to enter the favela without a local but therefore got to experience their incredible hospitality and I felt that they genuinely cared for my safety.

I am pledging a monthly donation to Barbara. Just an amazing woman, and such an important thing she is doing. Gracias Barbara!!!

I love Barbara’s concept of getting food as a reward for when you have studied. It’s quite briliant.

I was born, raised and still living in Rocinha. Thanks for the video! Our favela has many issues, but we are still very proud of it. We welcome anyone who wants to meet us and get to know our homes.

I love Barbara and her work. I’m very appreciative of what she’s doing! Thank you for showing this window into a favela in Brazil. 🙏🏼🙂💕

The world needs more like Barbara

Sou de São Paulo eu gostei muito da maneira que mostrou o Rio de Janeiro. Aqui no Brasil não falamos favelas chamamos Comunidade. Gostei do respeito. CARINHO ❤ FELICIDADES VENHA VISITAR SÃO PAULO

I have been to Brazil a few times! It’s like hell there. The people are so lovely and hospitable. Sad the way most people live and so much government corruption. I stayed at my friend’s place in Copa Cabana it was all gated and protected. I loved the beaches and beach life there! It’s weird a big metropolitan city surrounded by beaches! Rough man!

I have never been to Brazil but my son lived there for 2 years. He said the people are wonderful! We are talking about visiting together. Thanks for the video!

I was lucky enough to travel all over South America back in 2008. Brazil was my favorite & the people of Rio were so gracious, amazing food and the culture…Thank you for showing off this amazing place. Miss you Brazil, you have my heart🤍🤍🤍

wow this is so beautiful. we are so concerned with other unimportant things sometimes. its so refreshing to see how pure humanity can be. Those really welcoming people that let you in their house, the aspiring rapper, and the beautiful women whose running the non-profit for the children. Beautiful people of Brazil. Love from the U.S.A <3

Amazing filmmaker 🇧🇷 I went there last year and loved Brazil. The way it’s portrayed in media is unfair the people are so fun and friendly

Stunning views, beautiful people, just amazing. Barbara is exceptional — rare to find true kindness and intelligence like that. Love waking up to new videos, thanks Nick!! 🇧🇷
